Ring gear for wrestlers is a huge deal as it can help to define their characters, while also allowing them to stand out in a big way. Fans remember those who wore great gear, and they equally recall those who never looked the part, and while some talents like Rey Mysterio switch things up very regularly, that's not the case for everyone.

Most wrestlers only switch things up now and then, allowing fans to get used to a certain look before adapting it to something new. It keeps things fresh and allows them to never become stale, and recently there have been plenty of changes.

10 Finn Balor

Finn Balor recently turned heel in WWE by joining the Judgment Day as the group kicked Edge out as the leader, and he decided to shake up his look to go along with that. Balor has typically worn shorts throughout his time in WWE, but that is no longer the case as he now wears long pants.

This is to fit in with the darker aesthetic that the group has generally, and he even went along with the black and purple color schemes as well. He added a piece of purple cloth to the back of his pants which trails down, providing slightly more details to the gear overall.

9 Rhea Ripley

8 Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss 2022

When Alexa Bliss recently returned to action following her lengthy break, she did so with new ring gear that has blended several of her gimmicks. During her time working with The Fiend, or her brief run after that she would often wear a dress style gear, with a skirt, but that is now gone.

Instead, Bliss has gone back to the traditional look that she has had throughout her entire run in the business, only nowadays she uses darker, edgier colors, with this keeping in line with the newer character she portrays.

7 Claudio Castagnoli

Claudio Castagnoli

Throughout Claudio Castagnoli's entire WWE run he always wore trunks, which provided a simple and clean look when he got to the ring. But when he returned to the world of wrestling recently to debut with AEW, Castagnoli decided to switch things up massively as he got new gear.

For him, it was out with the old and in with the new as the Blackpool Combat Club member began wearing long tights. It's something that audiences were not used to seeing, but the change was appreciated and helped showcase a new start for him.

6 Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch at Survivor Series 2022

Becky Lynch has always been great at adapting her looks, and switching things up when needed, particularly when her character has changed. That's something that has happened throughout this year as her character has become more extravagant and over the top, and her ring gear has matched it.

During her promos, she wears wild fashion pieces in a bid to make her stand out, and that's something she is copying in her gear. With the bright colors and the huge kneepads, Lynch has made sure she has looked the part.

5 Nikki A.S.H.

Because she turned heel and began acting more like a villain, Nikki switched out the traditional blue and yellow color scheme and has since been using black and gold. It's a small change, but a smart one in terms of adding details to how her character is going to be behaving moving forward.

4 Madcap Moss

Madcap Moss was someone that fans were actively hoping would bring out a brand new look when he turned on Happy Corbin, and that is exactly what he did. Beforehand he was wearing shorts with suspenders that made him look quite goofy, but it suited the gimmick that he was portraying.

When he turned on Corbin and began to become a singles star and a top babyface, it was clear a change was needed and that's what he delivered. While his new gear is quite simple, with just black trunks, kneepads, and boots, it does give him a more serious look overall.

3 Lacey Evans

Lacey Evans returns Cropped (1)

Lacey Evans recently made her return following a lengthy break from the ring as she was pregnant, and when she did return it was with a new gimmick. Originally, this was as a babyface as she tapped into the tough circumstances she has gone through in her life, and that is why her ring gear changed.

Rather than trying to get heat, Evans was more about getting over with the crowd, so she wore camo pants that were a nod to her military background, and very different gear, which has freshened up her look.

2 Mace/Mansoor

Male Models

Both Mace and Mansoor have recently undergone huge transformations in terms of how they look due to the new gimmicks that they are portraying now in WWE. The two men are no longer dressing as they used to as they have joined Max Dupri in the Maximum Male Models faction.

This sees them dress differently every week depending on the segment they are doing, but it is always something extravagant and completely over the top, which is helping to make them stand out.

1 Sonya Deville

Sonya Deville Cropped

Because Sonya Deville spent so long out of the ring, her return was something that did need a fresh look to kickstart the new run for her. After a long time as an authority figure, her character had changed a lot from being someone that just relied upon an MMA background, and her new gear reflected that.

Gone were the MMA-style clothes, and in came something that reflected the power she tried to show as the authority figure. All black outfits became the norm for her, and it's a look that is working well to suit the gimmick.
