WWE Superstars travel together all the time and are sometimes forced to work with each other on different storylines, which throws together some of the craziest partnerships.

The company itself is like a conveyor belt so there will always be new stars coming through the ranks to replace any older ones who decide to leave or retire. And the fact that there are always so many new faces means that some of the friendships that are formed between Superstars are definitely ones that raise eyebrows.

It is also worth mentioning that just because the characters on screen are completely different, it doesn't mean that the stars don't have a lot in common with each other outside of WWE.

These stars are forced to spend a lot of time together both inside and outside of the ring. So sometimes there are friendships that are born out of convenience, while others are made because the two stars actually find that they have a lot in common.

There are many unusual friendships in WWE currently and the following is a list of 15 friendships that the WWE Universe would not have guessed.

16 15. Mark Andrews And TJP

TJP became a huge star under the Manik mask in TNA before he made the switch to WWE to compete in the Cruiserweight Classic back in 2016. Once there, he would become the inaugural Cruiserweight Champion. While TJ was performing for Impact Wrestling, Mark Andrews became the winner of TNA British Bootcamp Two back in 2015 and joined the X-Division. It is thought that this is where the duo first met and instantly became friends.

Andrews has recently made the switch over to WWE as well and is currently performing as part of the WWE UK Championship side of the company. This means that the duo have been reunited and that they can share cute Instagram updates much like the one above where both Mark and TJ brag about how long they have known each other.

15 14. Renee Young And Corey Graves

Corey Graves is the tattooed, straight talking, WWE commentator for Monday Night Raw. Meanwhile, Renee Young is the sweet fun loving member of WWE's broadcast time and face of the WWE Kick-Off panel. It doesn't seem as though Renee and Corey Graves would have a lot in common but they are actually close friends.

It probably helps that both stars are part of the broadcast team and that they probably share hints and tips when it comes to interviews that they both conduct. Renee has Unfiltered on the WWE Network while Corey has WWE Ink and Culture Shock. It seems that even though these two stars are very different on the outside, they actually have similar interests and manage to bond over them both on-screen and off-screen when they are part of WWE.

14 13. John Cena And Samoa Joe

via sportskeeda.com

John Cena and Samoa Joe are two stars whose careers have been entwined before they met in WWE recently. Joe and Cena were both part of Ultimate Pro Wrestling back when both stars were much younger  and before Cena originally joined WWE.

The duo hit it off and often trained together before Cena made the move to WWE. Joe then headed to Japan and had a lengthy stint in TNA before he decided to join WWE and was put on the NXT brand. Joe has finally been put on the main roster now more than 15 years after he and Cena were first together in a company. It must be good for the two former friends to be able to meet up and share old stories of their youth and their differing paths into the biggest wrestling promotion in the world.

13 12. AJ Styles And Shinsuke Nakamura

via wwe.com

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura may well be together on the SmackDown roster for the first time right now, but this isn't the first time the duo have crossed paths. Nakamura and Styles were together for a long time when they were part of New Japan Pro Wrestling's Bullet Club and it seems that is where their chemistry both inside and outside of the ring comes from.

Both men are part of the 2017 Money in the Bank Ladder match in just over a week's time and the WWE Universe will then be able to see the chemistry that both men still possess from all of their time working together in The Land of the Rising Sun. Hopefully. WWE capitalize on this and open up a feud between them in the coming months.

12 11. Sasha Banks And Rich Swann

Sasha Banks and Rich Swann have recently been brought together on WWE TV. And after defeating Noam Dar and Alicia Fox at Extreme Rules this past weekend, the duo proved that they have matching dance moves.

It seems that it wasn't just the luck of the draw that put Sasha and Rich together in recent weeks, since the duo has been good friends ever since Rich was brought into the company as part of the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic. The Instagram post above shows that both stars were hanging out last summer alongside the likes of Apollo Crews and Akira Tazawa. This post was made a long time before WWE decided it was a good idea to put Rich and Sasha together as a mixed tag team, which shows that sometimes WWE does care about chemistry.

11 10. Paige And Big E

via youtube.com

Paige has quite the reputation with another member of The New Day given recent leaks online. But Paige is actually close friends with Big E and not Xavier Woods. Paige and the former Tag Team Champion have been seen playing around backstage on episodes of Total Divas together as well as sharing Instagram posts of each other that prove just how close they actually are.

Big E and Paige are also good friends with former WWE Diva's Champion AJ Lee as it could have been AJ that first started their friendship. The duo have been friends for a number of years now so if it was AJ's influence then Paige has a lot to thank the former star for because Big E has been a great friend for the former Divas Champion.

10 9. Dolph Ziggler And Natalya

Dolph Ziggler and Natalya are both veterans in WWE, so it makes sense that the duo are considered to be very close backstage. They have never actually been given the chance to work together, but they have appeared on Total Divas together and they are both considered to be the most talented technical wrestlers on SmackDown Live.

Nattie is nice to everyone backstage and it is said that she has many friends. But because Natalya is close to the Bella Twins, and mostly Nikki Bella, it was slightly odd that Nattie was also close to her former boyfriend Dolph Ziggler. Nikki Bella must really be secure with where she is in her life to actually be OK with her friends still being friends with her ex, but she is about to marry John Cena, so it makes sense.

9 8. Becky Lynch And Jason Jordan

When WWE Superstars go on The European Tour for two weeks twice a year, they all travel around in groups of faces and heels. So there are many odd friendship groups created whilst they are sightseeing.

One of the oddest ones this year saw Becky Lynch and American Alpha's Jason Jordan touring Sweden together. Becky is said to be one of the nicest people backstage and one of the few women who isn't liked to Total Divas or the circle of women who are included in the show. This means that Becky often reaches outside of the Women's Division for friends and Jason Jordan is another shining example of that. Although, we do wonder why Chad Gable wasn't spending time with his teammate in Sweden too.

8 7. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past decade, then most wrestling fans will know that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have been feuding all over the world for the better part of their careers. As El Generico and Kevin Steen and now and Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, there is no doubting that these two are wrestling soulmates.

So much so that Sami and Kevin were even moved over to SmackDown together earlier this year, so that they can continue what has been an incredible story so far. Kevin and Sami are close friends outside of wrestling as well and often travel together too. It would be hard not to be as close as they are after how much the duo have been through and overcome together over the past few years.

6 6. Triple H And Sheamus

via mus.ge

It's always a good thing when you can get on the good side of the boss. It is thought that the only reason Sheamus won the Money in the Bank briefcase and was able to cash in to become World Champion was because he is close friends with Triple H.

Sheamus and Triple H have been gym partners for a number of years and the duo enjoy training and hanging out together. Obviously, Triple H controls NXT and has an input in WWE's creative decisions on their main roster as well, so that would be why Sheamus received the push when he did. But their friendship is about much more than a position in the company and it's something both men seem to enjoy.

5 5. Alexa Bliss And Nia Jax

It is one of the strangest friendships that WWE has ever managed to throw together, but given all of their recent Instagram posts, Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss are actually best friends outside of WWE. Luckily because both women are heels on the Raw brand, this was a friendship that WWE didn't have to hide. Instead, they have decided to embrace it.

The latest storyline saw Alexa and Nia working together before it was decided that Nia would go after Alexa and her Raw Women's Championship. In the end, Nia could turn face. That would be sad for Nia and Alexa because they really seem to enjoy spending time together while the company is on tour in other countries, despite how mismatched the WWE Universe finds their unusual friendship.

4 4. Seth Rollins And Cesaro

via sportsvid.info

Seth Rollins and Cesaro are another pair of friends whose time wrestling together began before they met in WWE. Both Rollins and Cesaro were part of Ring of Honor at the same time and they managed to pick up where they left off in WWE.

Cesaro and Seth even travel together and when Rollins was out injured leading up to WrestleMania 33, Cesaro updated cute posts on Twitter to show that he was missing his best friend and that he was still going to places and ordering his coffee across from an empty chair. Rollins even responded saying he was missing Cesaro, which was actually quite cute. The duo even appeared together on an episode of WWE Ride Along, which showed just how much fun they have whilst hanging out together on the road.

3 3. Daniel Bryan and Brian Kendrick

via cagesideseats.com

Daniel Bryan and Brian Kendrick don't interact on WWE TV but Daniel was there to commentate on Brian's return matches for WWE when he was made part of the Cruiserweight Classic las year. These two friends have a history that goes back much farther than that, when both Daniel and Brian were part of the same professional wrestling school back in the day.

Bryan and Kendrick both trained under Lance Cade and Shawn Michaels back when the former World Champion had a brief stint as a trainer. Despite many reports stating that Michaels wasn't a hands on teacher at that time, he has a few success stories from his school that prove otherwise and it's something that links these two stars for the rest of their life.

2 2. Braun Strowman And Roman Reigns

via twitter.com

It's basically an unwritten code in WWE that if you're close friends then you have a much deeper and personal feud and it seems that Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns have been taking note. In the middle of what was a brutal feud between the two heavyweights, as part of WWE's recent European Tour, Braun and Roman took a break to see the sights in Rome together.

WWE was not happy with the stars breaking character to spend time together since they were trying to make the Universe believe that there was real hatred between them. The photos were shared but quickly deleted from Instagram. Obviously, WWE tried to destroy the evidence, but Braun and Roman are just two good friends who wanted to spend some time together in an unfamiliar country. It's cute.

1 1. Finn Balor And Karl Anderson

via pinterest.com

Finn Balor and Karl Anderson's friendship dates back to their time in NJPW as part of the Bullet Club. Anderson stated on the recent WWE 24 surrounding Finn Balor that when he first met Finn he really didn't like him. Then, a few years later he went out with Finn and some mutual friends and they instantly connected.

Both stars are on the Raw brand together right now and  they are enjoying having each other's company again. The duo are so close that they actually call each other "babe" when they answer the phone. It's a different kind of friendship but a lengthy one that has been built around their love of wrestling amongst many other things that the duo has been able to overcome in the past few years.
