A Couple days ago Universal Pictures announced that they were pushing back the release date of the next - still-untitled - Fast & Furious film (the ninth one in the series) to the Summer of 2020. So, who should be angry at this news?

Well, maybe fans of the series since it means they will have to wait an extra year to see the film. However, the film is being pushed back because Universal is going to use next summer to release the F&F spinoff starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham so fans will still get some Fast & Furious action.

But regardless of that, you know who shouldn’t be angry about the new release date? Tyrese Gibson. The actor who has been lucky enough to find himself part of a hugely successful film franchise that is probably making him millions of dollars. That guy! But, he is angry. Very angry and he has been releasing that anger directly at The Rock on social media.

It seems to have started last month when the spin-off movie was being discussed and Gibson wanted F9 to be The Rock’s priority. The post has since been deleted, but these were the comments he left on one of The Rock’s posts:

“If you move forward with that #Hobbs Movie you will have purposely ignored the heart to heart moment we had in my sprinter.”

“I don’t wanna hear from you until you remember what we talked about. I’m on your timeline cause you’re not responding to my text messages – #FastFamily is just that a family…….. We don’t fly solo.”

So, if they had come to Gibson and told him they wanted to do a spinoff of his character he would have said no? Ya, that sounds likely!RELATED:B

Anyway, he may have gotten pressure to delete that post, but the official announcement that Furious 9 was getting pushed back a year and that the spinoff was getting next summers slot brought Tyrese's anger right back to the surface and this time - or so he says - he won't be deleting this latest post "even if they call."

Here is what Tyrese posted on Instagram yesterday calling The Rock selfish, saying he is making the "Fast & Furious franchise all about" him. Then also hinting that the spinoff movie might be like Baywatch—The Rock's big release this past summer that bombed.

And to put this ranting back in perspective. Remember, this is all because The Rock got a spinoff and F9 is getting released one year later. They aren't scrapping the movie or canceling the franchise or firing Gibson. In fact, they will almost definitely make a bunch more F&F titles over the next many year, giving Tyrese a nice stream of income and undeserved celebrity for years to come.
