Kane has been added to the Team Miz Vs Shield match at TLC 2017  making the match a five on three handicapped match. It was interesting to learn at the start of Raw that the Miz's team was going to try and squeeze in a fifth member in their match versus the Shield at TLC. It was surprising to learn, after Curtis Axel was attacked backstage, that the Miz wasn't concerned because Axel was never going to be the fifth member. It was downright surprising to learn that the fifth member is Kane!

Kane hasn't been seen in the WWE for, what feels like, ages. He's been out of the company running his side businesses and dabbling in politics. So, to say that the WWE Universe was surprised to hear Kane's music near the end of the Roman Reigns versus Braun Strowman cage match was a bit out of left field is being kind. Very few people could have seen this development coming.

The question is why? Why did Kane attack Roman Reigns and side with The Miz? Why did he pick now to return? Why did the Miz choose Kane?

These are questions we're not going to get answers to prior to the TLC pay-per-view on Sunday. Raw ended without knowing the motivation behind Kane's decision and no one bothered to explain anything. The show simply ended with Braun Strowman and Kane standing side by side as partners and Reigns laying in the middle of the ring, having just been pinned.

How the Shield will contend now is anyone's guess. It was going to be difficult enough for three men to beat The Bar, The Miz and Braun Strowman. Now that Kane has been added to the mix, it seems an incredibly insurmountable feat for The Shield to win.

So too, how long Kane's involvement in this storyline is uncertain. Is this a one-time thing or is Kane back and back for good?
