CM came home for Thanksgiving! This week's edition of AEW Dynamiye emanated live from the Wintrust Arena in Punk's hometown of Chicago, Illinois. It was another great episode of Dynamite with a lot of highs and very few lows.

Winner: MJF Vs. CM Punk (Promo Battle)

The show kicked off with CM Punk making his way to the ring for his match with QT Marshall. Unsurprisingly, the Chicago crowd was excited to see its hometown hero ... a fact MJF was well aware of when he decided to interrupt Punk as soon as he reached the ring.

What followed was a riveting 20 minutes in which MJF and CM Punk tore each other apart in a promo battle that featured references to The Miz, John Cena, Triple H, and uh, meth. It's rare for an AEW show to open with a promo segment, and even rarer for one to open with a promo segment that lasts longer than 20 minutes. But unlike so many recent WWE efforts, this segment was an absolute joy to behold ... although it probably could have been a few minutes shorter

Loser: The Match That Followed

After his war of words with M(iz)JF, CM Punk went one-on-one with QT Marshall in a clunky, awkward match. The Chicago crowd was very generous to this match, which made it slightly more enjoyable than it otherwise could have been.

The opening segment was very good. The match that followed was not. QT Marshall and CM Punk are no spring chickens but they are veterans, and they can do so much better than this.

Winner: Thunder Rosa

Thunder Rosa advanced to the semi-finals of the TBS Championship Tournament with a big win over Jamie Hayter. Britt Baker and Rebel did all they could to ensure Hayter advanced, but ultimately their involvement cost their associate the match.

This match exceeded expectations as Hayter and Rosa basically just beat the crap out of each other. It does feel like too many AEW matches -- particularly women's matches -- end in shenanigans, but it's easy to overlook that when the matches are fun.

So far, the TBS Championship tournament has been booked pretty much perfectly and the five women who remain involved all deserve to be there. Rosa will now face her toughest challenge yet in the form of the undefeated Jade Cargill.

Loser: Colt Cabana

Colt Cabana got his ass beat in his hometown on Thanksgiving Eve. Poor guy. Fortunately, the guy who was beating Colt's ass was Bryan Danielson, who could be about to have one of the best runs of his career.

After the match, Hangman Page confronted Danielson, and oh boy is that match gonna be a doozy.

Winner: Fun Final Match

Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood, Andrade El Idolo, and Malakai Black defeated PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo, Rey Fenix, and Cody Rhodes in the final match of the night which was a fun one. Things got a little chaotic towards the end, but the crowd was into it ... one thing the crowd was absolutely not into, though, was Cody Rhodes, who got another huge negative reaction and even had his own belt thrown back at him by someone in the crowd (which would have been way funnier if it hadn't hit Aubrey Edwards).
