This week's AEW Dynamite was dedicated to the memory and legacy of the late Jon Huber (Brodie Lee). In March of 2020, AEW's initial attempt to run a show out of Rochester, New York was scuppered by the Covid-19 pandemic. This week, the company finally arrived in the hometown of Huber, who was originally scheduled to make his AEW debut on the 2020 Rochester Dynamite that never was.The show opened with the crowd chanting Brodie Lee's name until CM Punk's music hit. Punk came and joined the announce team for the rest of the show. After Punk had made himself comfortable at the announce desk, Adam Cole's music hit. Once Cole had arrived in the ring, Jungle Boy's music hit. Three of the best entrance themes in pro wrestling right now, one after another. AEW really knows how to kick off a show.[EMBED_TWITTER]https://twitter.com/AEWonTNT/status/1443366991314653187?s=20[/EMBED_TWITTER]

Winner: Adam Cole

You know it's all about the BOOM! Adam Cole defeated Jungle Boy in what was Cole's second singles match with the company. It was a great match and a perfect opener. The two men are definitely capable of delivering a much better match together, but it was smart of them to hold some stuff back for the next time they meet, which will hopefully be soon. The finish came when Cole lured referee Aubrey Edwards into a position where she would be unable to notice him low-blowing Jungle Boy. After the low blow, Cole hit Jungle Boy with the Last Shot kick to the back of the head and covered the youngster for the 1-2-3.

Loser: Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes teamed up with his Nightmare Family stablemate Lee Johnson to take on the team of Dante Martin and Matt Sydal. As you might recall, Cody was humiliated by Malakai Black on last week's edition of Dynamite when he allowed his sinister opponent to get in his head which ultimately cost him the match after Black sprayed him with the black mist. The result angered Cody's coach Arn Anderson, who made his feelings loud and clear tonight.

Cody and Johnson got the win, but after the bell, Arn Anderson got on the mic to express his disappointment with Cody's recent attitude and chew his protege out. Arn has been beating this drum in interviews recently, and it seems like AEW is leaning into the negative reactions Cody has been receiving lately, which should be interesting.

Winners: The Dark Order

The members of The Dark Order once again struggled to put aside their differences ahead of their match against The Hardy Family Office. The discontent was palpable before the bell had even rung, and things didn't get much better once the match started. But right when tensions reached boiling point, Brodie Lee's son Negative One and his mother Amanda Huber arrived to remind Brodie's former underlings of the task at hand. Adam Page's absence seemed like it was going to be the death knell for the stable, but thanks to Negative One, they were able to rally and get the win over the HFO, and the Rochester crowd loved every second of it.

Loser: Only One Women's Match

AEW's women's division is growing in number and increasing in quality each week, but the ratio of TV time between male talent and female talent has barely changed since the company launched. It's one of AEW's biggest weaknesses and one they have to fix soon. Only four women were on the card tonight but they were all in the same match. On the same card, there was one match that had 16 men in it. The creation of Rampage helped a bit, but there's still a lot of work to do.
