FTR have been on an absolute roll since the start of 2022, not only making a case for being the best tag team in AEW, but in the entire world. Over the years, they have chalked up several classics to help give evidence to how good they are, with that list increasing as the years go on. Whether it be as FTR or The Revival, and whether it be in WWE, ROH, or AEW, they have several great matches under their belt.

The team of Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood are two absolute pros when it comes to tag team wrestling, but sometimes it can be hard to decide which of their matches is the best. Dave Meltzer’s star-rating system often gives a good indication of which matches excel. Only matches in which it was just those two teaming together will be considered here, rather than their matches teaming with the likes of The Pinnacle.

10 Bobby Roode & Chad Gable Vs The Revival, 4.25*

Revival as Raw Tag Team Champions

The action in this match was of a very high quality, with The Revival finally being crowned Raw Tag Team Champions, defeating the thrown-together team of Bobby Roode and Chad Gable. They were given a lot of time to show what they could do, showcasing great chemistry.

The only detraction to this was a lack of engagement from the crowd, who didn’t seem to care too much about the match following a long and lackluster episode of Raw, but the title win was a nice moment anyway, and the match was still enjoyable.

9 FTR Vs SCU, 4.25*

FTR Vs SCU AEW Dynamite

This was a brilliant TV match between two seasoned and old school tag teams, with Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky proving why they were good enough to be the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champions.

This stood out from some other AEW matches, as it didn’t include many high spots, focussing strongly on tag team psychology and tactics, which FTR are masters at. All four men produced a great match here, with FTR picking up the win.

8 Undisputed Era Vs The Revival, 4.25*

Undisputed Era vs Revival AEW

Two of NXT’s greatest teams did battle in what was a dream match for many, with The Revival making a guest appearance on the black and gold brand. This had a high pace but also felt like an old-school throwback.

It is a shame that The Revival didn’t get the opportunity to have matches like this on the main roster, with tag team wrestling mostly an afterthought on Raw and Smackdown, but this brief cameo in NXT allowed them to do what they do best.

7 Kenny Omega & “Hangman” Adam Page Vs FTR, 4.5*

FTR AEW Tag Team Champions

At AEW All Out in 2020, FTR had their first match for the AEW World Tag Team Titles, coming against the team of Kenny Omega and Adam Page, who had developed into an incredible tag team. However, their run was coming to an end, with the story between them progressing to the next step, leading to FTR winning.

This match was all about tag team psychology and isolating an opponent, which perhaps made it not as flashy or enjoyable as it should been, but it was still a strong match, nonetheless. Omega & Page were the clear focus, but FTR did their jobs well anyway.

6 Authors Of Pain Vs DIY Vs The Revival, 4.5*

AOP vs Revival vs DIY NXT

NXT’s top three teams at the time put in a stellar performance here. The Authors of Pain were the new monster tag champions, meaning that former rivals, DIY & The Revival, were forced to try and work together to take down a common enemy.

This led to unique spots with the two teams sharing their respective moves, with the crowd going electric all throughout the contest. The elimination rule perhaps slowed the match down towards the end, but this did a super job in putting over the AOP.

5 The Revival Vs DIY, 4.5*

The Revival Vs DIY

The first match between these two teams took place at Takeover: Brooklyn 2, and it stole the show. The pace, the hard-hitting action, and the performance from Johnny Gargano especially, helped produce a great match for the NXT Tag Team Titles.

The expectation was that DIY would get their moment, but the Revival proved themselves to be too clever and polished on the night to allow the fans to get their happy ending, which perfectly set up a rematch.

4 The Revival Vs DIY, 4.5*

Revival vs DIY NXT Takeover Toronto

The rematch between Revival and DIY at Takeover: Toronto was arguably a step up from their previous encounter, which was certainly a tough task to accomplish. The chemistry between these four men was even more off the charts in this match, with the crowd more into it that last time.

This time round, DIY managed to pick up the victory after a memorable ending sequence. The two-out-of-three falls stipulation was utilised strongly, leading to one of the best matches in NXT history.

3 FTR Vs The Young Bucks, 4.75*

FTR vs Young Bucks AEW Dynamite

On a recent episode of Dynamite, FTR and the Young Bucks wrestled in their long-awaited rematch, this time with the AAA and ROH Tag Team Titles on the line. For a TV match, this was brilliant, with the face and heel dynamics reversed from their previous match, making this an interesting battle.

FTR picked up the win, further cementing themselves as perhaps the best tag team in the world after several incredible matches since 2022 began.

2 The Briscoes Vs FTR, 5*

At Ring Of Honor’s Supercard of Honor PPV, FTR and The Briscoes wrestled in a highly anticipated dream match, which had been built up for months. The expectations were very high for this, but the two teams delivered, showing why the hype was so huge.

In what was perhaps the best match of WrestleMania weekend, these four men went to war over the ROH Tag Team Titles, with FTR managed to pull off a huge win.

1 FTR Vs The Young Bucks, 5.25*

FTR vs Young Bucks

FTR vs The Young Bucks was a match that many fans saw as the biggest possible dream match in tag team wrestling. There were incredibly lofty expectations when these two teams battled at Full Gear 2021, but they managed to surpass that.
