FTR are one of the top tag teams in professional wrestling right now, and that has been the case for many years. They work an old-school style and have no interest in flips and high-flying spots like other teams. However, that is what makes them unique and interesting to watch in AEW.

They have put together some of the best tag team matches of all time, whether it's with American Alpha, DIY or The Young Bucks. However, while fans know a lot about them as a duo, there is still plenty that audiences aren't aware of when it comes to the Top Guys of tag team wrestling.

The Revival as NXT Tag Team Champions

While FTR have been friends for a long time, when they were first brought into WWE it wasn't to work as a tag team. However, they ended up cutting a promo together in class, and Dusty Rhodes immediately bought into them as a duo.

This led to them becoming a team as The Mechanics. From then on, they have been together, and Dusty Rhodes himself was always behind them, pushing the team heavily throughout their NXT careers.

8 The Influence Of Edge

Edge returning in WWE

FTR have gained respect from a lot of top wrestlers due to how good their work is. One of those men is Edge. However, he ended up having a big influence on Cash Wheeler, in particular. If it wasn't for Edge, Wheeler was going to give up wrestling.

He was struggling to land a job and was contemplating quitting the business. However, he ended up talking with Edge who persuaded him to continue working. He reviewed matches and gave him advice, and the rest is history.

Speaking of Edge, something else fans might not know about FTR is the fact he mentioned them on WWE television by name. This took place after the tag team had finished with the company and were already working with AEW at this time.

When WWE shot the angle of Seth Rollins breaking into Edge's house during their feud, he phoned his wife and gave he instructions. He also said he was phoning "Daniel and David." These weren't just random people, as they are the real names of FTR.

6 Wanting To Fight A WWE Producer

The Revival make their entrance in WWE

Situations can often be heated behind the scenes in WWE as there is always a lot going on, and real pressure to make things work. That almost came to a head at one stage in FTR's run with the company, as the duo almost ended up fighting a producer.

Cash Wheeler had become annoyed about a situation, and he told Dax Harwood that he was going to beat up the producer. Luckily for whoever that person was, he decided to prolong the work itself, and FTR got bored of waiting.

5 Want To Work In Japan

FTR AEW

FTR have dominated the American wrestling scene throughout their careers. Whether it is WWE or AEW, they have always risen to the top of their respective division. However, something a lot of fans might not know is their desire to work in Japan.

Right now, that is a major goal for them, with FTR wanting to become IWGP Tag Team Champions. Considering the Forbidden Door that exists between AEW and New Japan, that is something that could end up happening in 2022.

FTR love tag team wrestling, and they are incredibly passionate about it. That was clear when WWE created a tag division for the women, which is something that they were happy to see. So much so that they went out of their ways to train Sasha Banks and Bayley.

While both women are fantastic talents in their own right, they are singles wrestlers. Because of that, the two Four Horsewomen got some training from FTR in tag team wrestling, which they certainly put into practice.

3 WWE's Final Pitch

The Young Bucks mock FTR Cropped

FTR are a serious team inside of the ring, with a real focus on their work as wrestlers. That is why WWE's final pitch to them never made much sense as the company wanted them to become a comedic team, which was something they rejected.

WWE had put together drawings of some ridiculous ring gear that they wanted them to wear. Of course, once those images surfaced online, The Young Bucks got the gear made for themselves and they wore it to mock their rivals.

2 Not Sure On Their Future

FTR debuts in AEW

Because FTR are working at the top of their game right now, a lot of wrestling fans presume they're going to be around for a long time to come. While that might be the case, it is something that the tag team isn't sure about themselves.

1 A Vince McMahon Apology

vince mcmahon

Vince McMahon is someone who rarely apologizes, mainly because he believes whatever he is doing is right. However, when it came to the end of FTR's run with the company, the WWE Chairman did end up saying sorry to them both.

This was because they had been pitching ideas that weren't getting through to him. This left them frustrated as a team, but Vince wasn't aware of the situation. Because of that, he said sorry and admitted that the system was broken.
