AEW has a fantastic collection of male wrestlers who are capable of putting together some fantastic matches which leave audiences stunned and have helped to develop the company into what it is today. Great in-ring work has become what the company is best known for, but for all of the wrestlers to reach that stage, they had to be trained.

While talent ends up learning as they go throughout this industry, picking up bits and pieces over time, the person who originally teaches them plays a big role. They provide the fundamentals that they can then add to, while having the ability to work safely.

10 Danhausen (Jimmy Jacobs)

Danhausen is one of the most popular members of the AEW roster, with his unique personality and gimmick helping him stand out. He likes to bring plenty of comedy to things, but he is also able to work inside the ring, which is something he showed with Ring Of Honor.

He was trained by Jimmy Jacobs, who is someone who also has a large history with ROH. Jacobs is also a brilliant creative mind which he showed during his time as a WWE writer, therefore it is easy to see how Danhausen was influenced by him.

9 Eddie Kingston (Chris Hero)

Eddie Kingston brings an excellent fighting style to the ring which is truly unique to him, as he makes fans feel absolutely everything that he does. This comes from his lifestyle, and the situations he has gone through, but he is also fundamentally safe, and has great technique.

That likely comes from his trainer, Chris Hero. He's one of the best independent stars of all time, and learning from him was a great opportunity. However, the two of them don't get along, which is something they have been public in admitting.

8 Keith Lee (Tim Brooks)

Keith Lee is one of AEW's newer stars, but he is someone that is widely respected and admired across the wrestling business. He has a huge following and a legion of fans, and as a big man he's incredibly athletic. That isn't something he got taught originally, as few can do what he can.

But when it comes to the basics and the in-ring skills it was NWA legend Tim Brooks that passed on the tools to him. Lee has a huge amount of respect for Brooks, and he took the time to pay tribute to him when he passed away in 2020.

7 Miro (Gangrel)

Miro has had a brilliant career in professional wrestling, with the bulk of his time taking place in WWE. He thrived working for Vince McMahon, achieving a lot of success as a wrestler, and that has continued since he joined AEW, where he was able to capture the TNT Championship.

Miro got to learn a lot during his years in WWE's Performance Center, like anybody who goes through that system. But before that, he was trained by wrestling legend Gangrel. The former Brood star was the man who guided Miro in the early moments of his wrestling journey.

6 Bryan Danielson (Shawn Michaels)

Two of the greatest wrestlers of all time having this sort of connection is the type of thing that wrestling fans love to see. Bryan Danielson is one of the all-time greats, but he was trained by Shawn Michaels, who is also considered to be a GOAT within this industry.

It wasn't just HBK who had a hand in growing a young Bryan though, as he had another coach at his training school, Rudy Boy Gonzalez. Of course, the headlines go towards Michaels because of his star power, but both men played a role in guiding Bryan from a young age.

5 MJF (Brian Myers/Pat Buck)

Brian Myers is someone that gets viewed in a certain way by many wrestling fans because he spent so long working as a jobber in WWE. However, he is a fantastic wrestler, and he has his training school alongside Pat Buck, who is now working behind the scenes in AEW.

The two of them played a huge hand in training and developing MJF, who is now considered to be one of the biggest rising stars in the professional wrestling industry. He is someone that is going to be a major name for years to come, with his training being brilliant.

4 Shawn Spears (Eric Young)

Shawn Spears has been around the wrestling business for a long time now, and he has often been an underrated talent during that period. He is a great in-ring talent who puts on fantastic matches whenever he is allowed to do so, with his wrestling skills being sublime.

Nowadays, he has his own school with Tyler Breeze where they are training future stars. But, he was originally taught by Eric Young, who is another veteran of the business who has enjoyed a long, and storied career.

3 Top Flight (Ken Anderson)

Top Flight is one of the most exciting tag teams on the AEW roster, and while they haven't been able to progress as much due to Darius Martin suffering some injuries, they are two wrestlers on the rise. Dante Martin has shone brightly over the past year, and it seems Tony Khan has taken a shine to him.

However, when it comes to who trained the pair, the brothers were taught by former WWE and TNA star, Ken Anderson. He is someone who was always able to put together a great match, therefore it is no surprise that he was able to train people well.

2 Hangman Page (Jimmy Valiant)

The AEW World Champion is one of the top stars in the company, being someone that has played a key part in the rise of the company. Right now, he is working as one of the headline stars in the business, and his in-ring work has played a big part in that.

He was trained by Jimmy Valiant at the start of his career, who is a legendary wrestler that is well known for his tag teamwork. Valiant had Bobby Heenan as his manager, which was no doubt a huge learning experience, and he passed those lessons onto Hangman Page.

1 Sammy Guevara (Booker T)

Booker T's Reality Of Wrestling school has had a hand in training a lot of the stars that can be seen in the wrestling business today. He is well respected as a trainer for being someone who can confidently teach the fundamentals to someone, which was the case with Sammy Guevara.

The two-time Hall Of Famer may not have been a high-flying wrestler himself, but he was certainly able to teach Guevara how to work safely. The fact that the Spanish God is now flying is likely a major accomplishment for Booker.
