While a lot of focus has been put into some of AEW's major signings recently such as CM Punk, Adam Cole, and Bryan Danielson, it was the original names that really helped to get the company off the ground. The wrestlers who were involved from day one brought in a lot of attention and they did a lot of great work.

Some of the original AEW stars have gone on to have a lot of success with the company since that point, not allowing the major signings to slow down their progress. However, others have struggled to maintain the same momentum, falling short of the mark as they have begun to struggle.

10 Turned Into Stars: MJF

MJF is someone who fans were all excited about heading into the company being created and that was down to the work he had done prior to that. He is one of the big original names, and everything that MJF has done so far has worked perfectly.

AEW has made him one of the top heels in the company and the focus has often been on him. His storyline with Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho have been fantastic to see, and it is clear that the future is bright when it comes to him.

9 Are Struggling: Nyla Rose

Nyla Rose got a big push early on in AEW, dominating in the women's division and holding the AEW Women's Championship. However, since that point Rose hasn't been featured in quite the same manner, with other members of the division climbing ahead.

While Rose is still used on television, it isn't in the same manner as before. Of course, Rose could end up coming around once again, but for now there is a period of struggle taking place.

8 Turned Into Stars: Jungle Boy

Jungle Boy is a fantastic babyface who always puts on tremendous matches and he has been able to make a really strong connection with the fans so far. He's a natural and likeable individual who is going to go far in the company.

While he's yet to have a title run in AEW, Jungle Boy is someone will be getting plenty by the time his career is done. He can do it all inside the ring and because he has the underdog character nailed down, there is a lot that creative can do with him.

7 Are Struggling: Scorpio Sky

Scorpio Sky was one of the top original names in AEW when the company first launched, with SCU getting a huge push straight out of the gate. They were the first AEW Tag Team Champions and that is something that led many fans to believe Sky was going to get a huge push on his own.

However, since the trio split up, Sky has begun to struggle. He is no longer the bright star for the future that everyone is keeping their eye on, and while he is still featured on the product, he is no longer thriving in quite the same manner.

Sammy Guevara always had the look and the in-ring ability and AEW is the company that has truly unlocked his potential. He's someone who has been able to work as a top level heel and a babyface which has proven just how skilled he is.

Within the Inner Circle, Sammy was able to shine and become a major star with the company and that is something that fans have loved to see. Him winning the TNT Championship recently was a real crowning moment for him that has proven he is going to go far within the company.

5 Are Struggling: Sonny Kiss

There is no doubt that Sonny Kiss is a talented wrestler who brings plenty of athletic ability to the ring. However, Kiss has not made the impact that people thought would happen, often not being featured at all on Dynamite.

It's clear that AEW's creative department aren't sure about how to get the best out of Sonny Kiss, which is obvious from the lack of storylines overall, which is also why there is a serious struggle taking place right now.

4 Turned Into Stars: Britt Baker

Britt Baker has gone from being one of the unknown names that a lot of people weren't aware of to being one of the biggest stars in the entire company. Few people get a reaction bigger than Baker now and the fact she is able to do that as a heel is a credit to her star power.

Baker has had some amazing matches in AEW that have really taken the women's division to the next level. She's now one of the top names in women's wrestling across the entire industry, proving that AEW has truly turned her into one of the biggest stars possible.

3 Are Struggling: Kip Sabian

Kip Sabian had worked on the British independent scene before joining AEW, but he was brought in at the start of AEW and he did get plenty of opportunities. However, while he was featured during his wedding storyline, apart from that he has struggled.

While Sabian has dealt with injuries, aside from that he has never been featured in the same manner that some of the other AEW originals are, and he is runnin the risk of being lost in the shuffle.

2 Turned Into Stars: Darby Allin

Out of all the original AEW roster members, Darby Allin is certainly the one who has become the biggest star. He has been booked perfectly and that has allowed him to be seen as one of the top names in the entire company to the same level as some of the established stars such as Jon Moxley.

The fact that CM Punk's first match back was with Allin says everything that fans need to know about his ability and the way he draws in a crowd. Putting him alongside Sting has only enhanced things further and there is no denying that he will be a future main event World Champion in the company.

1 Are Struggling: Joey Janela

When AEW began, Joey Janela is someone that the company put a lot of effort and attention on. He got to work matches with Kenny Omega and his love for risk-taking wrestling really helped to make him a big deal within the company.

However, as time has gone on, Janela has just slipped further down the pecking order. He now rarely appears on Dynamite and hasn't had a featured storyline with the company for quite some time, with his struggles being clear.
