AEW boss only Khan has managed to turn MJF’s discontent into a very entertaining storyline. The star talent, who has been around from AEW’s nascent period, took to the ring during Wednesday night’s Dynamite to deliver a promo for the ages. The 25-year-old called for Khan to fire him in an expletive-laced tirade in which he referred to his boss as a “mark." MJF has long expressed dissatisfaction at AEW and, per recent reports, is angry over former WWE talent being paid more, despite him being a bigger draw.Related: Chris Jericho Seemingly Calls Out MJF Following Pipe Bomb PromoAEW played on this during Dynamite as MJF plainly asked Khan whether he would make more money if he was an ex-WWE talent.

According to Dave Meltzer, most of the AEW locker room has been kept out of the loop when it comes to the situation with MJF. Khan also brushed off media questions after Double or Nothing on the weekend, following the wrestler’s no-show at a meet and greet with fans.

Meltzer claims most of the wrestlers on the AEW roster reckoned the whole thing was a work from the onset and played it off as just wrestling. However, there were others who weren’t happy about how the whole thing played out and one even referred to it as a sloppy angle.

A Sloppy Work?

“One noted being very unhappy about it believing that playing games with talent and keeping executives in the dark on key issues was something they had hoped this company would never do, and one called it a sloppy work that in the long run will benefit nobody,” the wrestling insider wrote for the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (H/T WrestlingNews.co).

Wednesday night’s promo drew comparisons to CM Punk’s pipe bomb delivery in 2011. AEW has made it seem as real as possible by not showing the footage on any of their social media pages and getting it taken down from the accounts that did share it.

MJF has also been delisted from the AEW roster while his merch has been pulled from the promotion's store shelves.
