Throughout his wrestling career, Samoa Joe has primarily been seen as a singles star who has dominated on his own no matter where he has worked. However, even the best singles wrestlers spend some time in tag team matches, and Joe is no exception to that situation.

Whether he has been in WWE, TNA, ROH, or elsewhere the former NXT Champion has had to partner up with others, and that is where he has seen varied success. Some of his partnerships have been brilliant, with Joe having great success, but others simply haven't worked, with a lot of fans forgetting about them completely.

10 Best: Gail Kim

Samoa Joe and Gail Kim

The combination of Gail Kim and Samoa Joe is a true dream team for many considering the careers of both wrestlers, and it proved to be a success when it came together during their time in TNA. The two of them teamed up to take on Ms. Brooks and Bobby Roode, and they showcased why they're two of the greats.

Kim and Joe got the victory in their only outing together as a team, proving that they were a formidable force, but it is just a shame they didn't go on to team up more times.

9 Worst: Kevin Owens

On paper, a tag team between Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe seems like an ideal situation given their in-ring styles and how great they are at talking trash. However, when it came to getting results the two men didn't prove to be very successful when they worked together in WWE.

They competed in several six-man tags, often coming up short, but it was their failed attempt at becoming the Raw Tag Team Champions that truly solidified the fact they simply weren't good partners.

8 Best: AJ Styles

Samoa Joe and AJ Styles

AJ Styles and Samoa Joe were typically rivals more so than partners, and they often brought the best out of each other inside the ring as competitors. However, throughout their time in TNA they did end up sharing the ring plenty of times as partners, and they tended to win more than they lost.

They were two top main event names in TNA, therefore it's no surprise that they were often pushed to win matches. Their styles would work well together with Styles bringing agility, while Joe was more of a heavy hitter, with the combination working out perfectly.

7 Worst: Kevin Nash

Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash

Back in 2010 Samoa, Joe had the chance to team up with the legendary Kevin Nash, who was still working regularly at the time for the company. While the pairing looked great on paper due to the star power that they both have, the fact was that they didn't click inside the ring.

Nash was past his best at this point as a wrestler, and he wasn't particularly motivated either which was clear with his performances. That made their matches average to watch, while they failed to capture the TNA World Tag Team Championships together.

6 Best: Kurt Angle

Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle

Most fans remember Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle as bitter rivals, with the two men having some brilliant matches against each other at times in TNA. However, they also shared the ring a lot as well, so much so that they won the TNA World Tag Team Championships together.

While Joe opted to hold those titles on his own, rather than becoming a traditional tag team with Angle, they still proved themselves to be a strong force in that moment, with their submission and technical styles working well together.

5 Worst: Cesaro

Samoa Joe and The Bar

During Samoa Joe's time on WWE's main roster, he was allowed to team up with Cesaro several times in six-man tag team matches with various other third men. However, they were consistently on the losing side during their performances on Monday Night Raw despite the skill that both men had.

Cesaro is a proficient tag team wrestler, which is what makes it surprising that they were so poor together as their skills complemented the other inside the ring. However, the results that they were able to pick up showcased that they simply weren't a good team.

4 Best: Finn Balor

Samoa Joe and Finn Balor proved to be an extremely popular tag team when they were put together for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in 2015. While they were both seen as singles guys, they worked towards a common goal to win the trophy, and that is exactly what they achieved.

They dominated every team they faced, looking fantastic inside the ring throughout that process. While Joe ultimately turned on Balor before their true potential as a duo was seen, they proved to be a fantastic partnership beforehand.

3 Worst: Jay Lethal

Samoa Joe and Jay Lethal

Jay Lethal and Samoa Joe spent a lot of time working as a tag team during their spells with Ring Of Honor, where they have both been extremely successful. However, as a duo, they struggled to reach the level that they attempted to as they were often on the losing end when working together.

They challenged for the Ring Of Honor Tag Team Championships several times, but they were unable to capture the gold, often falling short in the big moments.

2 Best: Magnus

Samoa Joe and Magnus

Over the years it is Magnus who has proven to be Samoa Joe's greatest tag team partner, with the former Main Event Mafia stablemates working very well together in the ring. They teamed up plenty of times during that period of their careers, and the two hard-hitting wrestlers worked excellently as a team.

The only true run that Joe has ever had with tag team titles came alongside Magnus when they won gold in TNA, and the fact that they held this as a team unlike when joe worked with Angle put them over as a genuine force that worked together.

1 Worst: Randy Orton

Samoa Joe and Randy Orton

Randy Orton and Samoa Joe are two of the greatest wrestlers of their generation, and seeing them come together provided a real dream scenario for most fans. However, the combination of these two accomplished stars didn't translate into a lot of success when it came to winning matches.

They spent most of their time teaming up in dark matches after episodes of SmackDown, and because they were heels Joe and Orton ended up losing the majority of their matches to send the fans home happy.
