There is a lot of talent up and down the card in AEW, with the company having a huge focus on tag team wrestling, with teams often in top feuds and in the main event spot, and the AEW World Tag Team Championships being some of the more prestigious belts in wrestling.RELATED: AEW: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Jungle BoyA lot of these teams are fantastic from solely an in-ring perspective, putting on hugely entertaining matches and making tag wrestling something which is must-see. When presenting tag team wrestling as a main event division, the wrestlers need to also possess good mic skills to feel like a full package. This will look at ten of the top teams in AEW, ranking them by promo ability.

10 Jurassic Express

Jurassic Express as AEW Tag Team Champions

The reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions, Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus, are one of the best and most popular babyface acts in the company. However, from a promo perspective, they have a lot to improve on. Luchasaurus is fairly quiet in promos, due to his peculiar gimmick, and Jungle Boy lacks the true conviction to create a convincing promo with his inexperience.

AEW were wise to pair them with veteran Christian Cage, who helps carry the pair through promos. Jungle Boy in particular is someone with a lot of potential, but if he is ever to reach the heights of becoming AEW World Champion, his promo ability is the one area he needs to focus on the most.

9 ReDragon

AEW Undisuted Era

Both in AEW and NXT, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly have had Adam Cole as their main mouthpiece. In the very few opportunities the pair have been given on the microphone, they have yet to reach the heights of their teammate.

They aren’t bad by any means, but they fall far down the pecking order when it comes to talking, as compared to many of the other teams in AEW, which is certainly a shame, considering they are one of the best teams in the world from an in-ring perspective.

8 Best Friends

The Best Friends in AEW

The Best Friends are one of the most likable teams in AEW, with positivity seeping from every pore, with a feel-good nature all through the group. Both Chuck Taylor and Trent are fine at cutting promos, but as of yet, they haven’t excelled.

They have both done their jobs well but have yet to have that standout moment in AEW on the microphone, but with more experience under the bright lights of a global audience, they will no doubt improve. From an in-ring perspective, much like many of the teams in the company, there is no issue, and they have gotten over despite less time cutting promos, with a natural likability.

7 Lucha Bros

With the language barrier, it could be difficult for Penta and Rey Fenix to struggle, but even when they speak English, everything is said with authority. Whenever they cut a promo in their native language, however, it feels intense, fluid, and real, even with Alex Abrahantes having to translate.

Their promos are a little long, and often are dominating by their catchphrases, so they aren’t quite at the level of other teams who cut extended promos, but they are believable and hold their own well enough.

6 Men Of The Year

Men of the Year and Dan Lambert AEW

As an individual, Ethan Page is one of the best in the company in terms of delivering a great and cocky heel promo. Scorpio Sky has improved leaps and bounds since his time in SCU, but he still has ways to go before becoming one of the better talkers in AEW, especially when stood next to someone like Page.

The pair have a strong image and bounce well off one another, but Sky’s promos aren’t at the level of Page, which brings them down overall as a team in terms of mic skills compared to others in the company. Dan Lambert being their mouthpiece hasn't done too much for the team either, with each man being overshadowed.

5 The Acclaimed

The Acclaimed in AEW Cropped

It is hard to judge The Acclaimed, with most of their mic time coming from Max Castor’s raps – which are very entertaining. When the music is off and the pair are cutting promos, they are still very good, though not quite great just yet.

Castor’s jokey side mixed with the intensity of Bowens is a very good formula, and they work well together during promos, helping fill in the gaps in each other’s abilities on the microphone, complimenting each other perfectly.

4 2point0

2point0 and Daniel Garcia AEW

Matt Lee and Jeff Parker never really got a chance to shine in NXT, but when they did as Ever Rise, they made the most of their seconds on the microphone, feeling like a true call back to impassioned 80s promos. This has translated to AEW, where they have exuded charisma on the stick.

Whilst they may not have shown a lot of depth, they are so into their role that they feel believable, with promos flowing fluently despite the over-the-top nature of their delivery. Though they are currently just bit-part players, they would not doubt thrive in a higher spot.

3 The Young Bucks

Jon Moxley and The Young Bucks

The Young Bucks get a lot of criticism at times for not being able to tell a story, with them being flashy in the ring. However, they might be some of the most underrated on the mic in the entire business. Everything they do is fluid, and rarely feels forced.

Perhaps they aren’t as strong when they are babyfaces, but as arrogant, nasty, and cocky heels, they are some of the best in the business with their style of promo. Sure, it is over the top at times, but that is way it is intended, with them feeling so unlikable when talking.

2 Santana & Ortiz

Santana-Ortiz-Entrance

Santana & Ortiz have been overshadowed quite a lot during their AEW journey, often getting lost in the shuffle in The Inner Circle’s feuds. However, when they get the opportunity, they grasp every moment and create something great.

As individuals, they both feel so authentic on the microphone, and even more so when they are together. The pair haven’t been given enough opportunity or spotlight in AEW as of yet, which is a shame considering how much they could bring to the tag team titles, especially with their quality and style on the mic.

1 FTR

Dax Harwood alone is in the upper brass of cutting promos in the world. Cash Wheeler may not be at his level, and perhaps he would be better regarded on the microphone if his partner wasn’t so damn good. However, together, both of them are brilliant, and Wheeler having less quality when talking doesn’t damage them at all, with each being strong either way.

FTR are a throwback team, with their deliverance of every word feeling impactful. They may be the best tag team in the world from an in-ring perspective, but they are also elite on the microphone too.
