Since its inception in 2019, AEW Dark has gone through a few iterations. Originally featuring bigger names, with the likes of Kenny Omega even wrestling on the show, with a marquee match against Joey Janela featuring on Dark in the early days, Dark currently is a stepping stone for future signings and stat-padding. While it may not be as must-watch as it once was, AEW Dark has given birth to a few AEW Stars.

With names like Powerhouse Hobbs, Julia Hart, Kiera Hogan, The Gunn Club, and The Acclaimed all having risen up from being featured on AEW Dark to being featured on Dynamite and Rampage, fans can look to current AEW Dark regulars as potential future players in both AEW and Ring of Honor!

10 Baron Black

While many wrestlers are known for their undefeated streaks at one point in time, AEW Dark has given birth to three wrestlers who were known for their un-winning streaks; Brandon Cutler, Peter Avalon, and Baron Black. After losing over 50 matches in a row without earning a single win, Baron Black would finally get his first win in the company during a Summer 2022 episode of AEW Dark, defeating Brandon Cutler.

While Black was winless for an extended period, it was not due to him being bad by any means, just due to the fact that he was a Dark regular while remaining unsigned. Having only debuted in 2012, Black could be a strong name to sign for the future.

9 Kayla Rossi

With one of the most unique looks in AEW women's division, Kayla Rossi was originally debuted as Joey Janela's muscle. After Janela left AEW, she would then be on her own before vanishing from AEW Dark earlier in 2022. Having just returned in August 2022, Rossi is back as a singles wrestler for AEW this time around.

With such a unique look and massive build, Rossi feels like she could be quite the monster if signed to an actual deal within AEW, either dominating the YouTube shows, bringing the heat to ROH, or eventually finding her own place on Dynamite or Rampage.

8 Taylor Rust

A former NXT star, Taylor Rust would be released by WWE during one of their mass contract releases, before hitting the ground running outside of the Sports Entertainment giant once again. Popping up on NJPW Strong, other indy shows, and AEW Dark, Rust has already made a bit of an impact since getting let go by his former employer.

With his background in wrestling and the style that he performs with, should Rust be looked at as a future signing by Tony Khan, he screams out as being a future Ring of Honor star, with Rust likely being able to slot in as a challenger for any of the current ROH titles, even the Pure Championship.

7 Ashley D'Amboise

Having first appeared for AEW during their time stuck at Daily's Place, the young Ashley D'Amboise has since gone on to become a regular for AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation, even appearing as an extra for WWE as well! At 31 years old, D'Amboise remains a freelancer at this time, though with the promise that she has shown in-ring and as she has gotten more popular online, it could only be a matter of time for her.

Should she get a contract offer from Tony Khan, she feels like a strong underdog babyface wrestler that could be built up overtime both on the Dark shows as well as Ring of Honor in the future.

6 The Renegade Twins

Having gone from AEW Dark, to appearing on AEW Rampage and AEW Dynamite, back to Dark, the Renegade Twins, Charlette and Robyn, feel like names that Tony Khan and those in AEW are high on. Both young and impressive, this sister duo feels like their act has legs and that they could find themselves scoring contracts sooner than later.

While it remains to be seen if they would end up working in ROH or in AEW, it feels like a given at this point that the firey Renegade Twins will be signed by one of Khan's brands within the near future.

5 Rohit Raju

A former Impact Wrestling X Division Champion, Rohit Raju was prominently featured within the company during 2020 and 2021, being one of the top stars of the X Division during Impact's no crowd era shows. Highlighted by a feud with Jordynne Grace, Raju's time would ultimately end as he would leave the company and opt for free agency.

Eventually making his way to AEW Dark, Raju started off his run in AEW going winless for quite some time before eventually picking up some victories. In the past, those unsigned talents who have collected wins on Dark have either been elevated to TV for feeding to a major star or have been signed to the company, so it could only be a matter of time before Raju gets something bigger in AEW/ROH.

4 AR Fox

Having debuted in 2007, AR Fox has spent the past decade or so wrestling across the independent scene. Most notable are his stints in Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Dragon Gate USA, and Lucha Underground. With his time in the character-driven Lucha Underground, Fox's most memorable storyline was one against Killshot, the current Swerve Strickland.

Known for his innovative, high-flying offense, AR Fox is currently 34 years old, and could be a great signing for Tony Khan to make when building the new-age Ring of Honor promotion.

3 Viva Van

viva-van-aew-dark-1

A female wrestler that has been regularly been appearing on AEW Dark since the Pandemic Era shows in 2020, Viva Van is a name that deserves a shot to become one of the next big women's wrestling stars. A fairly decorated champion across the indy scene, Van shows much upside as a future star.

With AEW needing more women's talent to bolster their division, Viva Van could be a top tier free agent signing for the company. If not AEW, Ring of Honor is going to need to form an official roster sooner, rather than later, and alongside the other women mentioned, Viva Van could help lead that division alongside current ROH faces, Mercedes Martinez and Willow Nightingale.

2 Blake Christian

blake-christian-aew-dark-1

After signing with WWE, Blake Christian would be paired with real-life partner Cora Jade in NXT 2.0. His time with the company would not last long, as he would eventually be released, having accomplished almost nothing on the brand. Since then, Blake has made his return to the independent scene, while also competing for NJPW and AEW Dark.

While rumors have started to circulate that Blake Christian is among a number of names that have signed with ROH/AEW in recent weeks, nothing has been made public of the sort. Should that be the case, it is a no-brainer signing for Tony Khan, as Blake is one of the best high-flying wrestlers around right now and also brings a level of versatility to the ring.

1 Jake Something

Jake Something

One of the shining stars of Impact Wrestling during their no-crowd era, Jake Something became a bit of a breakout star within the company's X Division. While at one point he seemed destined for Championship gold, it would never come to fruition, with Jake leaving the company and becoming a free agent in 2022.

Since leaving, he has appeared on both NJPW STRONG and AEW Dark regularly. For those who haven't seen Jake Something in action, he has all the tools to become a superstar, without question. Possessing great mic skills, awesome in-ring work, and being able to connect with the fans, something that was highlighted during the last few months he had in Impact, Jake Something is a name that deserves to be signed.
