AEW emerged in 2019 and quickly became one of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world, featuring many high-caliber superstars and giving the fans what they want. In AEW's short history, fans have witnessed some all-time classics, such as Kenny Omega versus Bryan Danielson or the Steel Cage match between The Lucha Brothers and The Young Bucks.

Unfortunately, however, there have also been some absolutely terrible matches, including botches, absurd booking and just plain lousy in-ring action. Without further ado, let's take a look at the 10 worst AEW matches (so far), according to Cagematch.net ratings.

10 Big Swole Vs. Skyler Moore - Dark: Elevation (2.88)

Big Swole Vs. Skyler Moore

Usually in Dark: Elevation, there is nothing extraordinary to watch, as most of the time they are basic matches. Still, no one expects to watch a match as bad as this one between Big Swole and Skyler Moore.

Both women had lackluster performances, there was no fluidity in the moves and the storytelling was non-existent, it just seemed like Swole and Moore went out to the ring to wrestle randomly. No wonder these women are not under AEW contract at present.

9 Diamante & Ivelisse Vs. Dasha & Rachael Ellering - Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament - The Deadly Draw #2 (2.50)

Diamante & Ivelisse

This match does nothing but reflect the flaws and bad times the AEW women's division went through. It featured wrestlers with no story to tell and women who struggle to wrestle.

This match was absolutely underwhelming because we all know that the performers involved are actually quite talented and can put on a much, much better show. It is inexplicable that Diamante, Ivelisse, Dasha and Rachael Ellering flopped in such a way.

8 The Gunn Club Vs. The Factory – Dynamite (2.49)

The Gunn Club Vs. The Factory

On the August 25, 2021, episode of Dynamite, The Gunn Club (Austin Gunn, Billy Gunn and Colten Gunn) faced off against The Factory (Aaron Solo, Nick Comoroto and QT Marshall).

This was a totally forgettable match, which at the time seemed to be insignificant, and it still does. This lousy match only served to nurture the feud between QT Marshall and Paul Wight. Very few people were interested in this match, and it was really a waste of time. Thank goodness it was only five minutes.

7 Dr. Britt Baker DMD Vs. Madi Wrenkowski - Women's World Championship Eliminator Tournament (2.42)

Britt Baker Vs. Madi Wrenkowski

This bout was terrible, lasting just over five minutes, but it was enough time for it to be a botch fest. Britt Baker simply had a bad day, while Madi Wrenkowski looked pretty green.

This was a poorly booked match, with terrible performances and an even worse result. It was a squash match to make Britt Baker look great, but instead that, Baker's offense was very bad and flawed. Also, Rebel added absolutely nothing good to this match.

6 Brandi Rhodes Vs. Allie - Fight For The Fallen (2.29)

Brandi Rhodes Vs. Allie - Fight For The Fallen

The storyline was not bad at all, but Brandi Rhodes and Allie delivered a mediocre match at Fight For The Fallen. There was nothing good to see, the moves were sloppy and overall, the in-ring action was super slow and boring.

Also, this match was too long for what it was. You can’t say much more about this forgettable bout, in which Brandi Rhodes was the winner.

5 Big Swole Vs. Dr. Britt Baker DMD – All Out 2020 (2.23)

Britt Baker Big Swole

Despite being at the top of the AEW women's division, Britt Baker has been involved in three of the worst matches in the company. This match was the opener of All Out 2020, and frankly it was a horrible way to kick off the PPV.

This was arguably the worst cinematic match of all time. Maybe this shouldn't even be considered a wrestling match. Big Swole and Britt Baker simply had no need to do this Tooth And Nail match. And to make matters worse, Reba is a lousy actress and did everything wrong.

4 Luchasaurus Vs. Cezar Bononi – Dark (1.69)

Luchasaurus Vs. Cezar Bononi

Good thing this match was on AEW Dark and relatively few people watched it, but those who did must still be regretting it, because the match was awful.

Inexplicably two veterans like Luchasaurus and Cezar Bononi wrestled worse than rookies. The in-ring action was lazy and messy and there was a terrible botch. It's unbelievable that this match was previously taped and, despite knowing how mediocre it was, it uploaded to YouTube. No wonder this is one of the worst matches in AEW history.

3 The Nightmare Sisters Vs. Mel & Penelope Ford - Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament - The Deadly Draw (1.58)

Brandi Rhodes vs Mel

The 1.58 rating makes sense since this match was so bad, but that's not surprising considering the women involved. Brandi Rhodes was terrible; her offense was a bad joke. Her partner Allie didn't do much better, while in the other corner the only one who looked a little better was Penelope Ford.

The match was boring and simply abysmal, and the interference only made it worse. After nine almost eternal minutes, The Nightmare Sisters got the win.

2 Dr. Britt Baker DMD & Rebel Vs. Nyla Rose & Vickie Guerrero – Dynamite (1.47)

Britt Baker wins the match

On the June 30, 2021, episode of Dynamite, AEW Women's World Champion Britt Baker teamed with Rebel to take on Nyla Rose and Vickie Guerrero, yes, Vickie Guerrero participated in a match at 53 years old.

The addition of Vickie and Rebel only made both Baker and Rose look weak just being around them. Then, to make matters worse, Rebel got injured and the match continued. In the end, Baker got the win, but no one cared.

1 Matt Hardy Vs. Sammy Guevara - All Out 2020 (0.64)

Matt Hardy vs Sammy Guevara

The worst AEW match so far, according to Cagematch.net, took place at All Out 2020 when Matt Hardy and Sammy Guevara collided in a Broken Rules match.

This bout is infamous for that botched table spot in which Matt Hardy could have literally died, but the match continued as if nothing happened. It was absolutely irresponsible, dangerous, and disgusting to let a concussed Hardy keep wrestling. He even climbed a scaffold after taking the sick bump to the head. This has to be one of the worst moments in wrestling history.
