Kenny Omega's run as AEW World Champion has been fantastic so far, but "Hangman" Adam Page is ready and waiting as the right man to dethrone him.

AEW's Slow Build Pays Off

It has always been clear that  Page has been destined for big things, that dates back to before AEW was even created. When The Elite was running the wrestling world, Page was always growing as a popular star, particularly within Ring Of Honor.

That's why AEW attempted to push him hard straight out of the gate. He was in the first-ever AEW World Championship match, but he ultimately came up short against Chris Jericho, who became the inaugural champion.

At the time, Page wasn't ready to be champion, and AEW made the right call in having him lose. However, the company has consistently pushed him from that point on and that journey has been superb.

From becoming a drunk to actually becoming Tag Team Champion with Kenny Omega, the current storyline has written itself. With Omega taking a darker turn and Page failing to get the job done against him last time they competed, fans are now eager to see Page finally overcome Omega.

The Cleaner has become a title collector lately, and eventually, that has to end. So why not make it the man that Omega has consistently felt he is better than, bringing a perfect end to this slow build of Hangman Page?

Change Is Good For Omega And Page

Kenny Omega as AEW Champion

Kenny Omega has had a great run as AEW World Champion, to the point where he could be considered the best in history so far. However, it does feel like the upcoming All Out show in September is the time for him to drop the gold.

That show will be taking place in Chicago, which will no doubt provide a red hot crowd, therefore AEW should take advantage of that situation and make a historic title change take place.

There's only so long that AEW can have Omega and his faction dominate the company before fans become tired of the situation. That is where an Page victory works perfectly, not only for him but also The Dark Order.

The group has been one of the most popular parts of AEW for a while now and having Hangman get the win and continue to work with them would only help to build everyone involved, helping more than just one person.

AEW has put a lot of work in with Page since the start and now is the time to cash in on that work. Plus, it doesn't just benefit Hangman, as it would allow another change to take place for Omega.

Perhaps he could place more focus on being the IMPACT Wrestling World Champion, or focus on opening the Forbidden Door further with New Japan? It also allows him to showcase more anger and aggression in chasing after the title, allowing this storyline to continue for more great moments.

Creating A New Star

So far, there have only been three wrestlers to hold the AEW World Championship. Two of those were established names, being former WWE Champions, while the other is Kenny Omega, who was built up as one of the top faces from when the company began.

Hangman Page makes his entrance

All three men were already stars prior to signing for the company, and while they've all been great champions that have built the company up, they are not new stars. That is one of the criticisms that some fans have had, which is where Hangman Page can come riding in.

His journey to this point is one that fans have completely bought into, and the fans are now ready to truly get behind him as the AEW World Champion. He has all the in-ring ability and personality to work in this spot as well, with Hangman being one of the best talents in the company.

It isn't a risk for Tony Khan to put his richest prize in the hands of Hangman at this point, which showcases that the creative for him has worked perfectly. There isn't anybody else with the right amount of built-in story that could actually defeat Omega either.

So unless AEW is willing to begin working brand new storylines and creating a totally new rival for Omega that could be better than what is already in place, then Hangman truly is the man.
