While Dave Meltzer seemed confident that Bray Wyatt (Windham Rotunda) was headed to AEW and that a deal wasn't signed but was likely imminent, new reports have surfaced that if this is true, a lot of people in AEW don't know about it.

CM Punk noted during the post-Rampage show that AEW is not like WWE in that things backstage aren't really meant to be kept a huge secret. The idea is that everyone in AEW wants the company to succeed and as such, nobody wants to spoil the surprises for the fans. This isn't to say that all wrestlers are let in on Tony Khan's hiring plans, but it suggests there are often a number of people backstage who know what's going on.

Well, if Wyatt is coming to AEW, according to Bryan Alvarez of the Bryan and Vinny Show, not many people in AEW have heard Wyatt's name tossed around.

After Alvarez noted that Meltzer suggested during his show Wyatt was pretty much guaranteed to be heading to AEW, he said, "... as soon as that show went up I started getting text messages and they were from people in AEW. It was not Tony Khan. These were people that probably should know and they were like ‘did Dave say that Bray is coming?’" He said he responded to those texts that he wasn't part of Meltzer's show and that he personally hadn't heard to show where Meltzer made his comments. He added that they were all unaware of Wyatt's somewhat certain future.

Alvarez added, "Again, I am not saying that Bray isn’t going or that Dave is wrong. Dave may know something that they don’t know, which would be sort of weird. But that’s the story right now."

Wyatt To AEW Not A Guarantee

Obviously, nothing is done until it's done. And, because Wyatt is still under a non-compete clause, he can't sign a deal with AEW, nor would Khan extend an offer. The AEW President has been pretty open about his desire not to talk with wrestlers under existing contracts.

Alvarez also noted that he sees the Wyatt situation being very different than CM Punk, who was pretty much a lock to go to AEW. He also believes Daniel Bryan will wind up there. He's not so sure about Wyatt. "I would put it at much less than 99.9999 percent at this point," he said.
