CM Punk returned to the ring after Dynamite went off the air this week to thanks fans and admit that he knows the excitement surrounding his return will eventually wear off.

CM Punk made his second appearance for AEW this week on Dynamite. His music might not have received the seemingly record-breaking pop that it did on Rampage, but he still had to wait for the fans to quiet down before he could start speaking. The former WWE Champion spoke more on why he has returned, and why it's with AEW.

CM Punk Addresses Fans Off-Air

The second appearance was more about hyping his first match back. A showdown with Darby Allin at All Out. However, Punk returned to the ring after Dynamite had gone off the air with a message for the in-house fans. Punk joined Christian Cage and Frankie Kazarian in the ring who had been thanking the fans for coming out.

"I know it’s late, I know sometimes these shows can be long, but you sit in your seats, and you’re enthusiastic, and you give everybody here everything you’ve got," Punk said to the fans. He did also admit that he is well aware that eventually, the excitement surrounding his return will wear off, something Cage appeared to disagree with judging by his own reaction.

The Punk Luster

"Eventually, the luster will kind of wear off from the shiny CM Punk. You’re just gonna have a good time listening to Cult of Personality, but do know that until it does wear off, I’m gonna keep doing this and soak in as much as possible." That eventuality seems like a long way off right now. AEW will continue to travel to a different city each week, and the fans in that city will be seeing Punk live for the first time in more than seven years.

It's unclear right now when Punk will be making his next appearance. Other than his match against Allin, nothing else has been advertised. The PPV is only a little more than a week away at this point, though. Punk won't be going anywhere after that either. During his televised promo on Wednesday, The Second City Saint reeled off a few more names of AEW stars he can't wait to face.
