WWE Hall Of Famer has expressed his opinion on deathmatch wrestling following Nick Gage's recent involvement in All Elite Wrestling.

Nick Gage is considered by his fans and many of his peers to be the "King Of The Deathmatch" and spent the vast majority of his career performing in small venues to modestly-sized crowds. On the July 21 edition of AEW Dynamite, Gage made his TNT TV debut when he was introduced by MJF as one of Chris Jericho's "labour" opponents.

Bischoff shared his thoughts on AEW's association with Gage on the most recent installment of his 83 Weeks podcast.

I just don’t think that kind of thing [works],” Bischoff said. “Number one, it doesn’t interest me, that style of wrestling. I think it’s bad for the industry in general, I think it appeals to such a small portion of the audience that a larger portion of the audience is turned off by it," he added.

The former WCW boss used the recent Texas Deathmatch between Jon Moxley and Lance Archer to highlight his issues with the style of match.

"Those guys that love that, we saw it the other night with [Jon] Moxley and whatever his name was [Lance Archer]. They were digging at each other with a fork. Alright, cool, whatever. For me, I won’t watch that kind of stuff. Number one it’s not entertaining, there’s nothing magic about it," he continued.

Bischoff then stated that while he personally doesn't think there's any creativity in that style of match, he isn't criticizing AEW for booking matches with violent stipulations.

There’s no creativity in it, it’s just gore and blood for the sake of gore and blood," he went on. "I recognize that that’s my subjective taste, they’re not trying to appeal to me so I’m not criticizing them [AEW] for doing it. I’m just telling you how I feel in this case as someone who’s been in the business for a minute and as a viewer. As a viewer, there’s nothing there that makes me go ‘Wow, how did they pull that off? Wow, that was really creative. That created an emotion in me that nobody has in a long time.'"

In case you missed it, Nick Gage lost to Chris Jericho in the main event of the most recent edition of Dynamite. If Bischoff hated the Archer/Moxley match, it's safe to assume that he despised the Jericho/Gage match -- assuming he watched it, which he almost definitely didn't.
