It's not entirely clear what Mark Henry's job in AEW is, but he talks likes he's got a lot of sway backstage and that if he's interested in a talent, it feels like there's a good chance the company is too. With that mind, his comments about Braun Strowman are interesting.

Speaking with TMZ, Henry noted there's mutual interest from both Strowman and AEW to get to talking a potential contract when the former WWE star is able to officially sign with a new wrestling promotion. Henry noted he doesn't like to talk too much with talents who can't legally talk contracts, but clearly he's had a powwow with Strowman who must have indicated he's got AEW on his radar.

Henry noted when asked about The Monster Among Men, “Super high on my list. It’s not an all Mark Henry decision, but there’s already interest on both sides." He added, "So hopefully, by the time he’s allowed to wrestle in August, I think the middle of August, then we could have a serious conversation about contractual things of that nature. But right now there’s interest on both sides.”

Reports are that Strowman's agent is charging five figures for the talent to make appearances, so any deal with AEW won't likely come cheap. That said, money is probably not a huge issue for AEW if they're keenly interested.

Henry His History With Strowman

Henry acknowledged that he's got a past with the big man as he was instrumental in getting into professional wrestling from the world of power lifting. It would make sense that Henry sees another opportunity here for Tony Khan to pick up someone Vince McMahon has seemingly discarded.

Strowman is still obligated by a non-compete clause that means he won't be showing up anywhere until mid-August. For now, fans will have to settle for seeing him on social media, which the big guy has found quite useful over the past few days.
