Andrade El Idolo burst onto the U.S. wrestling scene with his debut in NXT. Since then, he's been one of wrestling's most consistent performers and has gained praise for his diverse, Lucha-libre moves in the ring.

Although Andrade has had some stellar matches in the past, not every single one of them is considered a match of the year candidate by any means. There are matches as listed by Cagmatch.net that might be regarded as the worst in Andrade's short career in the states so far. Andrade attained wrestling royalty, becoming Ric Flair's son-in-law, but that doesn't cancel out the fact that he was involved in critically-panned bouts.

11 Andrade El Idolo and Malakai Black vs. Cody Rhodes and PAC (AEW: Full Gear, 13/11/2021) - 5.56

andrade-full-gear

It was interesting watching Andrade teamed with his old NXT arch-rival Aleister Black, who went by the name Malakai when he arrived in AEW. Andrade and Black looked to silence Cody Rhodes and PAC on this night as the two teams battled for over 16 minutes.

Although Andrade would end up on the losing end, he did show why he belonged on the AEW roster. Unfortunately, the tag match was overshadowed by other matches on the card.

10 Andrade El Idolo vs Matt Sydal (AEW Dynamite, 07/07/2021) - 5.36

andrade-vs-matt-sydal

Andrade's first singles match on AEW was greatly anticipated by fans who had watched him flounder in WWE. He was managed by Vickie Guerrero and carried the swagger of someone who believed he should've been World Champion ages ago.

The match itself was high pace and showcased a lot of Andrade's signature, Lucha-libre maneuvers. Perhaps the thing that hurt this match was Sydal's horrible in-ring AEW debut that just flattened any momentum he had coming into the company.

9 Andrade Almas vs Tye Dillinger (NXT TakeOver: The End, 08/06/2016) - 5.13

andrade-vs-tye-dillinger

Before he would defeat Drew McIntyre for the NXT Championship and before Zelina Vega would manage him, Andrade was someone looking to make a name for himself in NXT. One of his first singles feuds was against "The Perfect 10" Tye Dillinger.

The two would have a midcard match at NXT TakeOver: The End. While the match wasn't horrible by any stretch of the imagination, both men hadn't yet established themselves as true threats on the roster.

8 Andrade, Angel Garza, Randy Orton vs Erik, Ivar, and The Big Show (Monday Night Raw, 03/07/2020) - 5.10

andrade-six-man-tag-orton

The pandemic era of WWE probably produced some of the most unforgettable matches on Monday Night Raw. Andrade during this time was teaming with Angel Garza and he found himself as a quasi-ally of a re-motivated legend killer, Randy Orton.

Unfortunately for Andrade, he wasn't the main focus of this pointless six-man tag match. Randy ended up pinning Erik after an RKO, and Andrade rose Orton's hand while they both stared menacingly at an angered Big Show.

7 Andrade and Angel Garza vs. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford (Monday Night Raw, 20/07/2020) - 4.92

andrade-street-profits

This was one of the long series of matches between Andrade/Garza and The Street Profits during the pandemic era. The Street Profits had a so-so run with the Raw Tag Team Championship, and they were fed Andrade and Garza regularly.

Andrade and Garza worked fine as a team, but the match's repetitiveness and lack of crowd reaction soured this entire tag team "feud." The Street Profits came out the winners in this match after Montez landed a frog splash onto Garza.

6 Andrade and Angel Garza vs. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford (SummerSlam, 23/08/2020) - 4.68

Yep, again. At least this tag feud made its way onto a significant PPV card like SummerSlam. Though, Kevin Owens being on commentary for the match shows how utterly pointless this feud was during the pandemic era.

And yeah, Andrade and Garza ate another loss. The Street Profits continued to get one over the team and proved why their title reign was anything but flawless.

5 Andrade and Angel Garza vs. Dominik Mysterio and Humberto Carrillo vs. Murphy and Seth Rollins (Monday Night Raw, 21/09/2020) - 4.58

andrade-mysterio-rollins

Andrade just doesn't shine in multi-men matches, it seems. Not only did Andrade have to deal with his old arch-rival Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik, but also the radical team of Murphy and Seth Rollins.

Mysterio and Rollins were feuding at the time, so all the focus was on their interaction and Domink's. Andrade and Garza were an unnecessary third wheel.

4 Andrade and Angel Garza vs. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford (Clash of the Champions, 21/09/2020) - 4.57

Back again, huh. Although they lost many times before and even on the previous PPV, Andrade and Garza got another shot at The Street Profits for the Raw Tag Team Titles. Not only did they lose again, but they ended up wrestling in what was the worst match between both teams.

Rematches in WWE aren't terrible, as long as there is a storyline reasoning for why they happen. Sadly, this tag feud had none.

3 Andrade and Angel Garza vs. The Viking Raiders (Monday Night Raw, 13/07/2020) - 4.33

andrade-tag-match

This match was so forgettable that CageMatch.net listed the wrong date for when it happened. Andrade and Garza wrestled the first half of the match in t-shirts and eliminated Erik to gain the advantage.

Although Ivar showcases his agility in the ring whenever he's in a match, he didn't save this one. At least Andrade and Garza got the win and earned a shot against the Street Profits.

2 Ric Flair & Andrade Vs Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett (Ric Flair's Last Match) - 3.51

Ric Flair's Last Match Punch Jeff Jarrett

More than any other match of Ric Flair's career, fans went into what was billed as Ric Flair's Last Match with low expectations and the match lived up to those expectations.

While Andrade himself did fine in this match, the whole affair was brought down by Ric Flair's deteriorating body and at the age of 73, there's only so much he could do. Every move he executed was sloppy, the legend has even admitted that he passed out twice during the match due to dehydration. A planned superplex spot was even aborted by Jeff Jarrett due to concern over Flair's health. Thankfully everyone seemed ok in the aftermath, but it was not worth the farce that was "Ric Flair's Last Match".

1 Andrade vs. AJ Styles vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Erik Rowan vs. R-Truth vs. The Undertaker (Super ShowDown, 27/02/2020) - 2.87

andrade-super-showdown-2020

Tuwaiq Mountain Trophy tournament leading into WrestleMania 36 was utterly pointless and forgettable. Andrade was United States Champion then and was eliminated by R-Truth in a tournament meant to spark the AJ Styles/Undertaker feud.

As mentioned, Andrade doesn't shine well in matches with many bodies and no stakes. Of course, WWE thought adding a trophy would give this match some stakes, but to no avail.
