Andre The Giant is a legend of sports entertainment, a true monster heel, an unstoppable force. In fact, Andre The Giant was one of the most dominant wrestlers of all time, and his stats back up that statement, as he had 121 wins and only 23 losses in WWE.

Seeing Andre The Giant lose was very unusual, as a matter of fact, most of his losses were by disqualification, or in tag team matches, avoiding taking the pin. Either way, defeating Andre The Giant was a big deal, so, on this occasion, we will review Andre The Giant’s last 10 losses in WWE.

10 Vs. Big John Studd - WWE on NESN

Big John Studd

Big John Studd was a very similar wrestler to Andre The Giant, in size and in terms of in-ring skills as well, but obviously Big John Studd's legacy cannot compare to that of Andre The Giant. This clash of monsters happened on May 13, 1989, on WWE on NESN.

As you might expect, the match was pretty slow, pretty mediocre in terms of wrestling, and the ending wasn't great either, as Big John Studd won by disqualification.

9 Vs. Hillbilly Jim - WWE on MSG Network

Hillbilly Jim Entrance

Hillbilly Jim is one of those forgotten workers of the WWE Golden Era, his game was solid enough, but definitely nothing memorable. What many don't know about Hillbilly Jim is that he defeated Andre The Giant in a singles match, by disqualification, but it still counts.

This happened on June 10, 1989, on WWE on MSG Network, Hillbilly Jim and Andre The Giant battled for eight minutes, a pretty entertaining match, with decent performances from both men.

8 Vs. Hillbilly Jim & King Duggan - WWE on MSG Network

Hillbilly Jim & King Duggan

During the July 10, 1989, edition of WWE on MSG Network, Andre Giant teamed with Haku to face Hillbilly Jim and King Duggan. Frankly it was a boring, slow-paced match, and it felt too long, although the babyface-heel dynamic was perfect and the fans seemed to enjoy the match.

The match ended when Haku accidentally kicked Andre The Giant, sending him out of the ring, and then King Duggan took advantage to cover Haku and get the win.

7 Vs. Demolition & King Duggan – SummerSlam 1989

At SummerSlam 1989, Andre The Giant teamed with the Twin Towers (Akeem and The Big Boss Man) to take on King Duggan and Demolition (Ax and Smash) in a six-man tag team match. It was a lackluster match, with basic in-ring action, but it wasn't terrible by any means.

Frankly it felt like a filler match. Andre The Giant seemed to move in slow motion, and the other wrestlers involved didn't have outstanding performances either. After seven minutes, Demolition and King Duggan were the winners, with Smash covering Akeem.

6 Vs. The Ultimate Warrior - WWE on MSG Network

Ultimate Warrior Andre The Giant

After that loss at SummerSlam, Andre The Giant began a feud with the Intercontinental Champion Ultimate Warrior. One of the most charismatic babyfaces of the era, against the greatest monster heel of the era. Their first match was on September 30, 1989, on WWE on MSG Network.

3 Vs. The Ultimate Warrior - Saturday Night's Main Event

The third and final singles match between Andre The Giant and The Ultimate Warrior took place during the November 25, 1989, episode of Saturday Night's Main Event. This was the worst match between them by far, as both had terrible performances.

Andre The Giant looked bad here, he could barely move, it was even pitiful to watch, the decline of his in-ring skills, and his health, was noticeable. The Ultimate Warrior won by disqualification when Bobby Heenan interfered.

2 Royal Rumble Match – Royal Rumble 1990

Andre The Giant was the 11th entrant in the 1990 Royal Rumble match, he stayed alive for 10 minutes, eliminating The Warlord and the Red Rooster.

Andre was eliminated by Ax and Smash, who were still furious after Andre and Haku defeated them for the World Tag Team Titles. That Royal Rumble match was great, and in the end, Hulk Hogan was the winner.

1 Vs. Demolition – WrestleMania 6

Demolition Vs Andre The Giant

Andre The Giant's last loss in WWE was at WrestleMania 6, when he and Haku dropped the World Tag Team Titles against Demolition. That's right, after Ax and Smash eliminated Andre The Giant from the Royal Rumble match, they sought to regain the titles, and they succeeded.

Andre participated very little in the match, Haku was the one who was in action most of the time. The match was average at best, but at least it was great to see the fans support Demolition.
