The Ball Family has been a staple in the world of sports for decades at this point. Most people will be well aware of two great and sometimes overrated NBA players in Lonzo and Lamelo Ball, but they may know less about their other brother LiAngelo. Of course, everyone is bound to know about their opinionated father, LaVar Ball.

The entire family has known fame for quite a long time and has garnered a lot of attention both on and off the court. While their lives have been incredibly public for quite a while, that doesn't mean there isn't plenty that the average basketball fan doesn't know about the beloved NBA players from the Ball Family.

10 They Have Their Own Reality Show

The Ball Family

It wouldn't be all that shocking to learn that most basketball fans aren't the biggest fans of reality television. That type of content is meant for a very specific audience, so it may be a bit of a surprise that the Ball Family is the subject of an entire series.

The Facebook series, Ball In The Family ran for a total of six seasons and followed the day-to-day adventures of the titular family. It's exactly what anyone would expect from reality TV, but it's still probably great for the star's biggest fans.

9 All Three Brothers Play As Guards

All of the Ball brothers were trained to become sports stars, and it seems that the training saw them all seeking out relatively similar positions. Both Lonzo and LaMelo play as point guards while LiAngelo tends to play as a shooting guard.

It is interesting to note that the two-point guards have seen much more success in high-level competition over the years, so maybe there was a significant focus on improving point guard abilities in their training. LiAngelo has attempted some play as a small forward, but he seems best suited as a guard too.

8 The Brothers All Started Training Quicker Than Most

A lot of professional athletes got to have at least somewhat normal childhoods, but it's possible that the Ball brothers were a bit different. As the story goes, each of the boys began to train in basketball as soon as they were able to walk.

It's clear that all that practice has managed to help the brothers thrive in top-tier competition, but LiAngelo had a bigger struggle than the others. While his brothers were hot draft picks, LiAngelo went completely undrafted in the NBA Draft.

When three brothers grow up together all close in age, it only makes sense that they spent a lot of time practicing together. That practice went a step further, and they all played on the same teams together for some time.

It wasn't just one team, the trio was said to have competed together for years until they each reached high school. That's a long time to hone your craft with others that would also see a lot of success in professional play, likely paving the way for the rest of their careers.

6 An Entire Rule Was Created For LaVar

Yes, really. The rule literally became widely known as the LeVar Ball Rule. Essentially, the rule made it so that the media was no longer allowed to speak to the family members of players during a home game. This rule was created for the exact reason most people would assume.

LaVar is an outspoken man, and he's never been afraid to speak his mind. That exact thing has led to him making some choice comments to various NBA players and the coaching staff that have surrounded his boys over the years.

5 LiAngelo Suffered A Serious Setback In College

The last thing any player wants to do is jeopardize their entire career with a stupid mistake, but according to allegations, LiAngelo didn't seem all that worried. Unfortunately, an issue with allegedly stolen sunglasses would see LiAngelo kicked out of the UCLA program.

That one setback created a serious stumble in LiAngelo`s career, one that he is still attempting to right. After that event, he would end up going undrafted in the NBA Draft, but he has since managed to claw his way into the G-League.

4 LaVar Has Said Some Questionable Things

The fact that LaVar has said some touchy things shouldn't be all that surprising after learning an NBA team rule was made for him. Outside of the issues in his own career, LaVar has gotten in a lot of hot water while attempting to help his sons.

Some of the things he's said have received so much pushback that many NBA legends have voiced their disdain for LaVar. A specific instance that could be construed as openly racist had a lot of sports journalists criticizing LaVar quite openly as well.

3 They’ve Competed On Lip Sync Battle

Lonzo And LeVar Lip Sync Battle

The family had already become reality tv stars, so why not go ahead and make an appearance on the strange battle show, Lip Sync Battle. LaVar and Lonzo both took to the stage during their episode of Lip Sync Battle, and the usual hilarity involved with the show ensued.

Some might think that both men would phone it in for the over-the-top show, but they both went for it. Lonzo did a full performance of Bad And Boujee, while LaVar Ball got all dressed up for an energetic performance of Jungle Love.

2 Lonzo Is A Rapper

Lonzo Ball

The average basketball fan may not be aware that Lonzo has actually released two separate albums over the last few years. Whether or not those albums are quality music is up to each individual's interpretation, but it's still impressive.

It's clear that rap is another passion for Lonzo since he's admitted that he would want to work as a rapper if he hadn't managed to excel in his basketball career. How he has enough time to play in the NBA at a high level and release albums of music is anyone's guess.

1 They Had A Bit Of A Mess On WWE TV

Something that people like about the Ball Family is that many of the boys enjoy a lot of the same things the average person does. Rap music, anime, and professional wrestling are all things many NBA fans also love.

When the Ball Family made their way to WWE TV, LaMelo had a bit of a slip-up during a segment in which he dropped a racial slur. The world was shocked thanks to WWE programming generally being primarily family-oriented, but the family and WWE both quickly apologized.
