Bird Explodes After Getting Hit by James McCann Line Drive

Birds will never learn, will they?

You would have thought that after Randy Johnson obliterated a bird with a blazing fastball back in 2001, all birds would simply avoid baseball diamonds completely.

It would appear that some of our winged friends did not get the memo, and one paid dearly for it when he/she ventured a bit too close to the action during over the weekend.

With the Detroit Tigers' James McCann at the plate, a bird presumably swooped down for a better look at the action - a fatal mistake, as it turned out, as McCann fouled off the pitch and struck the bird dead on, causing it to explode in a "sea of feathers", similar to the one that probably kept Randy Johnson up for a couple nights all those years ago.
