MLB Player's First Hit is a Home Run

Richie Shaffer was living the dream last night, as his first hit as a pro ballplayer was a home run in the Tampa Bay Rays' blowout win over the Chicago White Sox.

Shaffer debuted on Monday with the Rays, and got his first hit in the seventh inning of his second game. He was recently playing for the Durham Bulls in AAA and recently got called up to the Rays' main roster.

Shaffer's teammates ribbed him when he got back to the dugout, as vets usually do and gave the rookie the silent treatment. Shaffer didn't seem to mind, as he proceeded to celebrate by himself before they finally embraced him.
