10 Women These NBA Stars Regret Dating And 5 They Regret Losing

Some NBA stars just can't seem to get over past relationships whereas others may have done better had they steered clear of certain relationships.

NBA players do their very best to entertain us on the hardwood. Yet sometimes they unwittingly entertain us even more than they could on there with their off-court activities. It would be quite difficult to find a professional athlete who doesn't have a stunning beauty as a spouse or girlfriend. But a whole lot of sporting relationships don't last.

The NBA, in particular, has always boasted some of the world's most gorgeous WAGs. So, of course, they boast some of the most gorgeous ex-WAGs too, although some of them do find other players to date after the estrangements. Take Khloe Kardashian for example (yes she's on the list), the Reality TV star has been with James Harden, Rashad McCants, Rick Fox, Lamar Odom, and she's only just had a baby by Trisan Thompson.

Many of those exes are very regrettable choices, but loads of them do the regretting themselves after being burned. This list focuses on women whom NBA players must regret losing and others they simply wish they hadn't interfered with in the first place, although they probably wouldn't totally agree as some of their kids would have never existed otherwise.

So, here goes. Scroll down, read away and let us know what you think.

15 Regret Dating: Siohvaughn Funches (Dwyane Wade)

via everythinggirlslove.com

Everything is right again when it comes to Dwyane Wade. He's back in Miami (for the time being), along with his second wife Gabrielle Union, and they're supposedly happy to be there. The three-time NBA champion has had his ups and downs with Gab and they even went through a momentary split, during which Wade had a kid with another woman. Yet it seems like all is forgiven.

Things weren't always this rosy for the player, however. He was made to go through a bitter divorce, as well as a long drawn-out battle over custody of his two boys Zaire and Zion with ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches.

Wade and Funches got together in high school and tied the knot in 2002, before he was even drafted into the NBA. Of course, Wade's off-court activity had a lot to do with his marriage turning sour, yet he can't be happy to have been with a woman who made a demonstration outside of a Chicago courthouse, pretending to be homeless.

"Ms. Funches has made a mockery of homelessness which is a serious and personal issue for Mr. Wade as his mother was homeless for a period of time when he was a child," the player's lawyer would claim, via the Miami New Times, also telling the media that Wade paid her $25,000 every month.

14 Regret Dating: Kim Kardashian (Kris Humphries)

via touchweekly.com

You're probably thinking Kim Kardashian should be in the regrettable loss category. But think about this for a sec: would you want to date a woman who finds Kanye West cool?

If that isn't enough to convince you, she totally wasted Kris Humphries' time, marrying the poor guy only to decide that the marriage wasn't going to work whilst on their honeymoon. How ridiculous is that?

She even admits tying the knot out of sheer panic, having come to the realization that she was getting old and needed to do the adult thing with her life.

"I just thought, 'Holy s---, I'm 30 years old, I better get this together, I better get married," she said in quotes cited by UK publication the Daily Mail. "I think a lot of girls do go through that where they freak out thinking they're getting old and have to figure it out, all their friends are having kids. It was more of that situation. I knew on honeymoon it wasn't going to work out."

Kim K divorced the former Atlanta Hawks big man 72 days after giving him her hand in marriage. Who knows? He probably still regrets losing her, but he'd have to be really silly to even miss someone who would work him so cheaply.

13 Regret Losing: Evelyn Lozada (Antoine Walker)

via balleralert.com

Evelyn Lozada is the ex-fiancee of former star forward Antoine Walker. The now 41-year-old was drafted by the Boston Celtics, but his best spell would come in Miami, where he won his first and only NBA championship alongside the aforementioned Dwyane Wade.

After leaving the league, Walker fell on hard times and ultimately filed for bankruptcy, having blown a $110 million fortune. He would also lose Basketball Wives star Evelyn, whom he had gotten engaged to in 2007.

“My thing with Evelyn is she reaped a lot of benefits of my wealth. And when it got tight, she chose to go a different direction," he said on the Russ Parr Morning Show in 2014. "So that’s the problem that I have with Evelyn.

“Evelyn went on with her reality show and we all know all her relationships she’s been in since me. It hasn’t been about let me make sure Antoine is ok. So that’s a big difference. I dated Evelyn for ten years. In 1999…I signed my ninth deal in 1999. So she got to reap the whole benefits of the whole process."

Walker has since found a job as a basketball analyst and works with 120 Sports and the SEC Network

12 Regret Dating: Erin Barry (Brent Barry)

via nydailynews.com

Brent Barry's relationship with his wife Erin came to an abrupt halt when it was discovered that she had been exchanging more than friendly texts with his San Antonio Spurs teammate Tony Parker.

Parker, who was married to the alluring Eva Longoria at the time, would split that year. Both couples filed for divorce the same year, yet Erin denied it had anything to do with each other's marriages.

"Unfortunately, because our divorces are occurring at the same time, great speculation has been cast on our friendship," Erin wrote in quotes cited by eonline.com. "My friendship with Tony Parker had nothing to do with the end of my marriage (which is painful enough without this added drama), and to assume that we had an affair is naïve, ridiculous, and completely misguided. Every day I dedicate myself to being a good person and the best Mom that I can possibly be for my two beautiful children."

A spokesman for Parker also claimed that while the pair did exchange several messages, their relationship didn't ever get personal. Neither side of the relationship has ever hinted there was foul play, so perhaps it was just a coincidence that both couples split that same year.

11 Regret Dating: Alejandra Amarilla (Steve Nash)

via sheknows.com

There's hardly any need to explain why someone would regret being with someone who had a baby for one of their teammates. But I imagine not everyone knows Steve Nash's story just yet. So here goes.

The former Suns and Lakers point guard met Alejandra Amarilla in 2001 and wed her four years later. They raised twin girls Lola and Bella, but just a day after their third child, Matteo, was born in 2010, the Canadian announced that they would be ending their marriage.

"I am very thankful and excited that we have a new son, Matteo Nash. Alejandra and the baby are doing fine. But this is a bittersweet moment for my wife and I; after five years, we are now in the process of dissolving our marriage," he told Life & Style magazine (H/T the Daily Mail).  "While we have lived separately for the past several months, we remain firmly committed to raising our children in the most positive, nurturing way possible."

Following Matteo's birth, rumors began to circulate, causing much embarrassment for Nash and it would also lead to some rumors involving his teammates. Of course, no one has come up with any proof, but Jason Richardson was quickly traded from the team.

10 Regret Losing: Hannah Stocking (Klay Thompson)

via ibtimes.com

Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson seems to be a pure scorer both on and off the court and probably has the best shooting form in the NBA. The guard swooped up sexy internet model Hannah Stocking at some point in 2014, but their relationship wouldn't last more than a year.

Hannah shed some light on why the relationship ended in a series of tweets and needless to say, it didn't paint Klay in the best light.

"I told him I'd @ him if he didn't stop harassing me," she posted in a tweet. "So I guess he really wanted that tag to get his number up."

Obviously, it's embarrassing when dirty laundry is aired out on social media for all to see.

Regardless of Stocking taking their personal problems and making them public, though, he should have been more considerate, or at least more careful.

Since the relationship ended, Thompson has been rumored to have been dating some prominent Instagram models, but obviously after losing a woman like Hannah Stocking, it's gotta be tough for Thompson looking back on the situation. Hopefully it serves as a learning point for Thompson as he enters other relationships in his future.

9 Regret Dating: Gloria Govan (Matt Barnes)

via losangeles.cbslocal.com

Gloria Govan left Matt Barnes in quite the mood after hooking up with his former Lakers teammate Derek Fisher. The two are believed to have shared a close relationship as colleagues in Los Angeles, but Fisher began dating Laura at Barnes' back after the pair became estranged in 2015.

Well, Barnes wasn't about to have any of that and drove some distance to fight the ex-Knicks coach when he received a tip-off regarding Fisher being at his house. Police intervention was required on the night, but Barnes has since explained that he was more upset about his two sons being around than his former teammate dating his ex.

"It had something to do with [Fisher dating her], but what it was, was you're around my kids without telling me," Barnes said in an interview with Chris Broussard. "You're in the house that I pay for, first of all, with my ex — which is whatever — but you're around Isaiah and Carter. And you know because we were teammates how much those boys mean to me. Come on, man. We were teammates."

Barnes and Fish have since buried the hatchet. And rather ironically, it took some coaxing from the very kids he fought him over.

"My boys really took a liking to him," he explained. "'Daddy, we want you and Derek to be friends, and he's a good guy.' I knew outside of the move he pulled, he was a cool dude. Like I said, we were teammates, and Fish was a cool dude."

Barnes even jokes that he communicates with Fisher better than he does with Gloria. Yet that's not so far-fetched.

8 Regret Dating: Brittany Renner (Ben Simmons)

via nypost.com

When a relationship causes strife between a brother and sister and the relationship doesn't end up working out, odds are there's some regret for pursuing that relationship. That was the case with young Philadelphia 76ers sensation Ben Simmons who pursued a relationship recently with Brittany Renner, but ended up having an argument with his sister in the process.

Ben's sister Olivia also called Ben out on Twitter for failing to support her after she revealed she was struggling with bipolar disorder:

"Your sister struggled and opened up on nation wide television and u can't call her after it happens. I called u and didn't get a call back." she tweeted.

She continued on: "Struggle city right now. I wish I was a cash cow for my family and treated everyone like s--- maybe I would get the support I need."

Obviously, that's not something anybody would want to go through with a sibling over a short-term relationship.

She also proceeded to call Brittany Renner some nasty names and the Twitter roasting got to the point that Ben then blocked his own sister on Twitter. Simmons has now been dating singer Tinashe, and hopefully his relationship with his sister has been mended by this point.

7 Regret Losing: Khloé Kardashian (Lamar Odom)

via tmz.com

Khloé Kardashian can't seem to avoid being mistreated by basketball players. Only recently, her Cleveland Cavaliers star boyfriend Tristan Thompson was reported to have been up to no good.

But she's been through such before with ex-partner Lamar Odom. The former Clippers and Lakers forward married the Reality TV star in 2009 and even got in on the act, with the pair combining for their own show called Khloé & Lamar.

Apart from Lamar's near tragic episode in Nevada a few years ago, Lamar has already done plenty of damage to the relationship, before their split was finalized in 2016.

“Love is blind, Lamar was so great at making me feel like I was the only one and I’m this princess.” Kardashian told Howard Stern two years ago.

“He was so good... He was really crafty.”

Odom has since expressed regret for how he acted in his relationship with Khloé, but expressed happiness for her having a child:

“To tell you the truth, it couldn’t happen to a better person. I was really happy for her,” he said about his ex. “I know if she could take care of a grown man for four years the way she took care of me, I know she could take care of a baby.”

6 Regret Dating: Khloé Kardashian (James Harden)

via usmagazine.com

Lamar Odom would probably give anything to have Khloe Kardashian back, even with her newborn. But Houston Rockets superstar James Harden grew sick of his relationship with her due to all of the attention he was getting and broke it off.

Harden and Khloe dated for eight months, with the pair meeting at a Kanye West birthday party. But he simply couldn't stand her celebrity lifestyle and constantly being under the microscope.

"I feel like it was for no reason. I wasn’t getting anything out of it except my name out there and my face out there, and I don’t need that," he revealed in an exclusive interview with Sports Illustrated. "It wasn’t uncomfortable, but it wasn’t me."

Harden also explained that his relationship with the Reality TV star was beginning to affect his basketball and possibly upset his teammates. He seemed sick and tired of all of the picture-taking and posting on social media.

'I don’t need pictures of myself when I’m driving my car," he continued. "Who cares? What shoes am I wearing? Who cares? Where am I eating? Who cares? It was unnecessary stuff that I think trickled down to my teammates. I had to eliminate that."

5 Regret Dating: Amy Duncan (Tim Duncan)

via YouTube.com

Tim Duncan is probably the nicest NBA player we'll ever have the pleasure of watching. To be fair, he had every right to be cocky, given the way he dominated the court during his lengthy metier with the San Antonio Spurs. But he just wasn't

The former forward and center spent all of his 19 years with the Spurs, which does prove that he believed in loyalty. Unfortunately, though, his ex-wife Amy did not reciprocate the notion.

Duncan married a then Amy Sherrill in 2001 and they had two kids together, but they went through a divorce 12 years later.

Despite the nature of their split, she still managed to surprise him by filing for the divorce first, but Duncan went on the offensive with a suit of his own in order to ensure that prenuptial agreements were upheld.

Things hardly went by smoothly as Amy even accused Tim of being a bisexual during the proceedings. So, of course, there's no way he doesn't regret ever hooking up. Perhaps the only silver lining in the marriage is that they do have two kids together, and obviously any father would never regret having his kids. With Duncan being as classy as he is, we're sure that's his case as well.

4 Regret Losing: Iggy Azalea (Nick Young)

via billboard.com

In perhaps the most stupid way to lose one's girl, albeit not his fault, Nick Young A.K.A Swaggy P had his relationship irreparably damaged after a former teammate recorded bits of a locker room conversation, unbeknownst to him of course.

D'Angelo Russell, who was the orchestrator of said recording, was attempting a prank that really got out of hand. And he basically baited Swaggy P into revealing more than he wanted to. The video somehow got out, and his famous fiancee, Iggy Azalea, caught wind, as did everyone else.

Needless to say, she called their engagement off, while Young and Russell were left to eyeball each other. And the player's actions certainly didn't help.

"It was just everything - where I was at in my career, with my personal life and my professional life, the whole thing," the singer told Australian KIIS 106.5 presenters (H/T Capital FM)

"Things were already rocky music wise before the breakup. I just got to a point where I was like I either want to give up or I have to find something that's going to make me keep going and I decided, I'm going to get back in the studio and I'm going to keep writing."

3 Regret Dating: Michelle Game (Charlie Villanueva)

via palermo.com

Who would regret ever being with a woman as hot as Michelle Game? I probably wouldn't, but then I'm not Charlie Villanueva and didn't help her raise two kids who weren't mine.

The semi-Filipino model is really something to behold. But she doesn't exactly have the most sterling reputation. In fact, when she got together with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott last year, a source close to the player said some pretty derogatory things about her.

“Dak’s new girl Michelle Game is NBA Player Charlie Villanueva’s ex Fiancé, and they have a baby together," the source told Terez Owens. "I know Dak very well, she hit him up first, and she’s really into him. She posted “that’s bae” in a comment with a picture of him. She was a video vixen before Charlie and he’s not stupid, so he’s taking it slow.”

Villanueva, who last played for the Dallas Mavericks, got engaged to Michelle in 2014 and put a big shiner on her finger. But they broke things off ahead of the wedding, possibly leaving the former player to rue all of the time wasted, as well as the cash. Obviously we've seen this story before involving celebrities.

2 Regret Dating: Kehlani (Kyrie Irving)

via YouTube.com

While Kehlani probably didn't do anything particularly wrong to Kyrie Irving, she did put him through a lot, although through no fault of hers. The Boston Celtics star guard is believed to have begun dating the singer in 2016. And as soon as they started sharing pictures of themselves in the other's company, rapper PartyNextDoor decided that the time was right to share a photo of himself in an intimate setting with Kehlani.

Of course, it led to rife accusations, with many targeting the singer and lashing out at her. But she denied any wrongdoing, claiming that the picture was taken before they ever got together.

Kyrie is said to have received counsel from LeBron James as it relates to keeping his head in the game.  But he eventually broke his silence on the matter, speaking out in her defense via Twitter.

"It’s been hard to see what’s been going on and not address the truth," he said. "I do not justify the picture or what dude did to try and spark all of this nonsense that could have been avoided, but Me and Kehlani were not dating when the picture came out.

"It’s unfortunate that it’s received so much attention but its become bigger because of a post that was misunderstood. Nothing but love and compassion over this way for her and her family. My only focus the Game I love to play every night."

At the end of the day though, no one would enjoy having to go through something like that as it's still quite embarrasing.

1 Regret Losing: Callie Rivers (Paul George)

via nytimes.com

If you're ballsy enough to date a daughter of an NBA coach, then you probably deserve a spot on any team; except, of course, if he's the one coaching that team.

OKC Thunder star Paul George happens to be brave enough to pull it off. In fact, he has. The forward used to date Callie Rivers, daughter of Clippers head coach Doc Rivers.

As you can see, the lady he's holding to in the image above is stunning. But some things you just can't help - although what PG-13 allegedly did is pretty avoidable.

Considering the embarrassment Paul George went through after the breakup and the fact that Callie Rivers really does seem like a great catch, we can't help but wonder how he feels after losing her.

While there have been a lot of rumors about Paul George possibly joining the Los Angeles Lakers this year in order to play for his hometown team, we doubt there's an open spot for him on L.A.'s other team, as things would probably be pretty awkward for George to be coached by Doc Rivers. Needless to say it's pretty unlikely that the Clippers will be extending any offers Paul George's way come this summer.
