The King Of Memes: 15 Hilarious LeBron James Memes

LeBron James gives fans so much material to work with here... The King Of Memes: 15 Hilarious LeBron James Memes

If LeBron James could have his way, he would probably want everyone to believe that he is the greatest basketball player of all time. And maybe he is. Let's briefly go through his career highlights to date.

He grew up in Akron, Ohio. Drafted and became a basketball star with his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. 2010 free agency arrived, made a big Decision and left for the Miami Heat. Won 2 championships there before returning to Cleveland to win a third championship. He is a 13-time All-Star, 2-time Olympic Gold Medalist, won 4 NBA MVP Awards, and 3 NBA Finals MVP Awards.

His greatest accomplishment? Being the King of Memes.

Regardless of where you place LeBron James in terms of greatest basketball players of all time, we can all probably agree that he is an ultra-talented player who just so happens to be the subject of several hilarious memes. Whether you love him or hate him, anyone is able to enjoy these spectacularly hilarious memes that poke fun at King James himself. Whether it be his disappearing hair, his constant comparisons to Michael Jordan, or those annoying Sprite commercials of his - there is something for everyone to laugh at.

You're probably familiar with the popular Disney story, Pinocchio. Every time Pinocchio tells a lie, his nose just happens to get longer and longer. Well, King James is the NBA's version of Pinocchio. As you can tell by watching him over his career, something seems to be happening to his hairline - it's receding. It seems as though every time James exaggerates during an NBA game, his hairline goes a little bit farther back. It makes so much sense now! James does have a bad reputation for exaggerating plays and fouls sometimes...okay, he does it quite often.

During a game against the Golden State Warriors, Draymond Green plowed into James during a fast break. That led to James so artistically "flopping" to the court to make it seem like Green committed a foul against him.  We can only wonder how far back his hairline went that night after his heavily exaggerated flop.

During his days with the Miami Heat, James puzzlingly chose to wear #6. He had always worn #23 during his days with the Cavaliers, so it appeared as if we had a mystery on our hands. As we know, James never won a championship with Cleveland during his first stint there. He kept hearing all these comparisons to Michael Jordan and how Jordan had 6 championships and he had 0. Fed up with it, James found 2 friends (Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh) and went off to Miami to win some championships. James needed a constant reminder of who he was chasing. When he came out on stage during The Decision wearing #6, he knew that would be a constant reminder of his goal. Michael Jordan had 6 championship rings and LeBron needed to accomplish that too. It all makes so much more sense now!

Anybody who has been, or is, a student knows how stressful and challenging finals can be. All that hard work over a few months all reaches its culmination during finals. The NBA is kinda like that too. When you think of it, all teams spend several months competing in regular season games with the hopes of achieving success during the playoffs. LeBron has had the opportunity to make it to the NBA Finals an impressive 11 times! What's not so good is that he's only won 3 championships. Like students packed in a tense exam room, LeBron also feels the pressure when he is in the Finals.

Historically, LeBron has not performed well when the lights are brightest. In 2011, James and the Miami Heat took on the Dallas Mavericks. LeBron was a disaster during the finals, and some believed that James was not able to deal with the pressure or adversity of facing a better opponent.

There's no other way around this one. Golden State just always seems to have LeBron's number. This was especially the case during the 2017 Finals when LeBron and his Cavaliers took on the Golden State Warriors in yet another rematch. As the scoreboard at the bottom of the meme shows, Golden State led the series 2-0. The first two games had not been particularly close, as the Warriors just kept pounding away at Cleveland. LeBron was being beaten up convincingly! Just as the Cavs would start to mount some momentum, the Warriors would have a solution and reverse the momentum. There had come a point during the first quarter of Game 3 where LeBron could not take it anymore. He crashed to the court and just lay there on his back, staring up at his teammates, probably wondering what was happening.

LeBron James had demanded help from the Cavaliers front office. If they wanted to win a championship, he could not do it by himself. The front office obliged and, lo and behold, the Cavaliers made it to the NBA Finals once again. The problem for James and the Cavs was that the Warriors once again stood in their way. As we previously discussed, the Warriors seemingly had LeBron's number throughout the series. The Warriors went up 3-0 in the series, forcing LeBron to go to the ol' friend in grey - the referees. In danger of being swept, LeBron complained to the refs to help them at least win a game. it makes sense after all, LeBron needed another excuse for why they haven't been winning. It worked out well for LeBron in Game 4 too, as the Cavs shot 26 free throws while several Warriors were called for technical fouls.

When LeBron isn't being compared to Michael Jordan, he is being compared to Kobe Bryant. The Kobe v. LeBron debate is one for another time and another article. LeBron is regarded as one of the greatest NBA players of all time, and that's probably justified. But there was a certain NBA player (let's just say, Kobe) who took a shot with his eyes closed. He wasn't even looking and successfully took a shot!

As for the second part of the meme, LeBron was trying so hard to make what was probably going to be an impressive shot - but Kobe was there! From the looks of it, Kobe made an impressive block and swatted the ball out of LeBron's hands. The reaction on LeBron's face really does say it all.

Look, it's perfectly understandable. Hair loss happens to pretty much everyone as they age; it's part of life. Over the years, LeBron has been the subject of many jokes because of his hair, or lack thereof. The lack of hair on his head is probably a touchy subject for LeBron, just as it would be for men who suffer, as he now pretty much has a complete lack of hair up top.

As this particular meme shows, in over a decade since LeBron entered the NBA, his hair has gradually receded (granted, the meme is slightly exaggerated. At the same time, it appears as though that headband has become all the more important for LeBron. Pretty soon, he might just wear a hat on the court.

Well, that's gross. We don't imagine the cameraman expected LeBron to be doing that when he zoomed in on him. It did make for great memes though, and this one is no exception! On the court, LeBron is known to love using the pick-and-roll play throughout his years in the league. During the 2017 NBA playoffs, LeBron and Kyrie Irving formed what was described by opponents as a lethal pick and roll play. When asked about LeBron's pick and roll play with Irving, PJ Tucker said, "I have to make Kyrie dribble backward to give my guard a chance. But you don't want LeBron rolling open to the rim, neither. It's a nightmare." It has been a mostly effective play for LeBron, but that meme of him "picking and rolling" is just too much!

This meme is obviously a play on the Dos Equis commercials, featuring "The Most Interesting Man In The World". In the commercial, The Most Interesting Man usually says, "I don't always drink beer. But when I do, I prefer Dos Equis." When LeBron's face ends up superimposed on The Most Interesting Man's face, it can only result in hilarious memes. In this particular meme, LeBron is meant to be saying that he prefers to miss shots when the game is on the line. This is an obvious shot at LeBron's inability to perform in clutch situations. One notable instance where this occurred was March 1 2015 in a game against the Houston Rockets. Cleveland was losing 104-103 with LeBron at the free throw line with a chance to at least tie the game. LeBron missed BOTH shots, and Houston snuck away with the 105-103 victory.

Don't you hate it when you are typing in a new password and it says it's too weak? It's so frustrating, but Stephen Curry clearly understands your pain. In this meme, Curry is laughing with his teammates with the caption being that he had tried to use "LeBron" as a password but the site said it was too weak. The joke here is obviously that LeBron is not as strong as he is made to appear. This might actually be true because, as an article by the Boston Celtics News Station pointed out, LeBron might be partly a product of the A hype machine'. They pointed out that 1990s NBA stars faced tougher competition throughout the league, which is why they still get replayed today. It also suggested LeBron won't be getting replayed as much in 20 years, especially if he continues to struggle in the finals.

Something else that's funny about this particular meme? On most sites, "LeBron" probably would be considered a weak password. Stephen Curry was right...

Now, the guy in this picture looks like a perfectly normal sized guy. He isn't terribly thin by any means, so it would stand to reason that a normal sized headband would fit his head perfectly. Right? Well, apparently this Miami Heat fan was the lucky fan who got LeBron's headband when it was thrown into the crowd. Naturally, you would try it on.

As it turned out, LeBron's head is a little bit...bigger than this fan thought. Kudos to him for sharing this awesome photo as it is really allows all of us meme fans to marvel at just how big LeBron's head is. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, to be bigheaded means to have "an exaggerated opinion of one's importance..." Does that sound like LeBron to you?

It has been well established that, for some reason, LeBron has had his fair share of struggles against the Golden State Warriors. In fairness, most of the league struggles to match up with the Warriors but LeBron just isn't having it. Perhaps one of the reasons for LeBron's struggles is because of a supremely talented player by the name of Stephen Curry. As witnessed prominently during the most recent NBA season games between these two teams, LeBron had all sorts of problems guarding Curry. So it makes sense that LeBron does his research before the NBA Finals, and that's where this meme comes in.

It is obvious that LeBron, out of sheer desperation, had to resort to using Google. It seemingly has a problem for all your solutions, so it was clearly worth a shot. Unfortunately for LeBron and the Cavaliers, it didn't work out too well for them as the Warriors dominated and won the series 4-1.

Earlier on we learned that LeBron understands the pain males feel when they start to lose hair. But King James is a man of the people! He makes sure that he relates to everybody, and that obviously includes women. King James understands that women experience cramping about once a month, and LeBron is here to say that he feels your pain.

While there may be some science behind why LeBron has so many cramps, the fact remains that LeBron suffers from cramps quite often. A particuarly notable instance of this occured during Game 1 of the 2014 NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. James experienced cramps and had to be carried off the court by medical staff.

If there was ever a single meme to sum up LeBron, this would probably be it. It's honestly quite amazing how all four of the cardinal points on a compass have been encompassed by LeBron somehow. As we previously discussed, LeBron's hairline is for sure moving up north since he entered the NBA. In 2010, he infamously ditched Cleveland and decided to take his talents south, to the Miami Heat. The part of the meme where it says his mom rides West is the real zinger, however. A rumour gained traction in 2010 where LeBron's former teammate, Delonte West, slept with LeBron's mom Gloria. Apparently, LeBron got wind of it and it affected his performance. As for the last part, LeBron has spent his entire career in the NBA's Eastern Conference. More often than not, his team has been perched atop the Eastern Conference.

Chances are you've probably seen the LeBron James Sprite commercial. In the commercial, LeBron totally does not tell you to drink Sprite. Even if you were sweating and looked really thirsty, LeBron claims he would not tell you to drink a Sprite. No, he would instead ASK you, "Wanna Sprite?"

This meme sees LeBron perspiring noticeably and is probably sweating and thirsty. He could probably use something to drink. Stephen Curry just so happens to swoop in, and like the commercial, Curry isn't just going to tell LeBron to drink a Sprite - he'll ask him!

These are just 15 memes, but if you really wanted to, you could find hundreds of LeBron memes floating around. Do you have one you'd like to share? By all means, do so.
