Among the things that might change under the creative direction of Triple H is the freedom with which WWE Superstars are permitted to say what they want when cutting a promo. One of the knocks under Vince McMahon was that every promo was written and expected to be recited word-for-word by the talent, often stripping away the personality from a performer in the process. With Triple H running things, will today's WWE Superstar get more of an opportunity to be themselves?

One star who offered some specifics as to how she conducts her promos was Becky Lynch. Considered one of the best talkers in the business, she noted in a recent interview that she's at a point now -- she spoke on behalf of her husband Seth Rollins as well -- that she's not being told what to say, other than a few bullet points. While speaking to former WWE writer Brian Gewirtz and The Rock on Instagram Live, Lynch said that it used to be the case where she would have to say every word as it was written on the page and that she was far too afraid to speak up or out of turn. She noted, “Thankfully for me, it’s not like that, and it’s not like that for this guy [Seth Rollins]." She explained, "We get a promo, and sometimes there’ll be lines in it that you have to hit, and they’ll often be the lines that you’re like, ‘That doesn’t sound like she would say that.’ For the most part, we’ve gotten to the point where we’ve gotten enough equity, and we’ve gotten enough trust that we get to write our own promos.”

She said they work collaboratively with the writers to find their voice and make sure it sounds like the character. While she couldn't speak for others in WWE, one would hope that they're now finding the process of working with Triple H and his creative team more collaborative too.

Triple H Said To Be More Approachable

Already there's talk that Triple H is someone talent can come up to and talk with about their on-screen work. He's been said to be much more approachable that Vince McMahon was and that's only good news for WWE as these talents put their own spin and personality into everything they're doing. It allows the performer to sink or swim in many ways on their own, but also forces them to be responsible.
