Becky Lynch is one the biggest stars in WWE today. After making a name for herself as a member of the Four Horsewomen, it took Lynch a little longer than several other big names to make a major statement on the main roster, but eventually she made her stamp on the women’s division by becoming one of the most over names in the entire company.

With that has come some success, with her winning several championships during her time in WWE. Not all these reigns have been perfect, but some have been outstanding, consisting of great matches, stories, and character work.

Becky Lynch WrestleMania 35

At WrestleMania 35, Becky Lynch won both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles in the very first female main event at the show, which was a huge moment. The titles didn’t get unified, as Lynch sought to defend both belts. However, in her first hurdle she came up against Charlotte Flair, who dethroned Lynch in very unceremonious fashion.

The fact that Lynch lost the SD Title in her first defense made the “Winner Takes All” stipulation at WrestleMania feel a bit pointless, with Flair just winning her title back a month or so later. This was a big waste of time for Lynch, as she looked weak in defeat, despite interference.

Following the 2016 Draft, Lynch was presented as the biggest female asset on the blue brand, with this being cemented by the fact that she became the first ever SmackDown Women’s Champion, defeating five others in a six-pack challenge. This was a historic achievement, which nearly made up for the reign only lasting a couple of months.

It certainly wasn’t the strongest of reigns though, as Lynch would only successfully defend her title once, against Alexa Bliss, before dropping the title to her at the TLC PPV. There was a lot of potential when her run with the title kicked off, but it was unfortunately a let-down when all was said and done. Lynch did do a great job of establishing Alexa Bliss as a top heel during the reign, so it wasn’t all entirely pointless.

4 SmackDown Women’s Championship (Fourth)

At SummerSlam 2021, Lynch made a surprising return to the ring to take on Bianca Belair. In a hugely unpopular move, Lynch won the match in less than thirty seconds, sparking a heel turn which fans weren’t on board with. Even with the questionable character direction, Lynch had some good matches against the likes of Belair and Sasha Banks.

The ending of this reign was mired in controversy, as she was made to trade titles with Raw Champion Charlotte Flair due to the events of the Draft. This segment infamously went off-script, with it damaging the prestige of both titles, leaving her reign as champion on a very sour note.

3 SmackDown Women’s Championship (Second)

In the summer of 2018, fans were beginning to truly rally behind Becky Lynch as she aimed to become SmackDown Women’s Champion, with it seemed set in stone for her to succeed as she was billed to face Carmella at SummerSlam. Unfortunately, Charlotte Flair was added to the match, winning the title, and whilst this was initially supposed to spark a heel turn for Lynch, it got fans on her side even more.

Not long later, the fan support pushed Lynch to become champion, with this reign propelling her to the point in which she was the most over superstar in the company. She had a fantastic series of matches with Flair, including a show-stealing Last Woman Standing match at the Evolution PPV. Her reign ended in December, with shenanigans ensuing in a TLC match which saw Asuka win the title. The reign itself didn’t have too many matches, but it was hugely important in creating the star that fans see today.

2 Raw Women’s Championship (First)

Becky Lynch as WWE Raw Women's Champion

Lynch won both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles in the WrestleMania 35 main event, and whilst she dropped the SD belt quickly, she held the Raw title for a record number of days, totaling to nearly 400. The reign had ups and downs, but the sheer length of it and the dominance Lynch had made her feel like a special champion.

Over the course of over one year, she overcame Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, Lacey Evans, Natalya, Sasha Banks, Asuka, and Shayna Baszler, with several of those being great matches, notably against Sasha Banks inside Hell in a Cell, and Asuka at the 2020 Royal Rumble PPV. Her time as champion only came to an end when she relinquished it due to pregnancy. At times, her title feuds weren’t as prominent as they should have been, but it was a great run overall.

The start of this reign wasn’t the best, with Lynch gaining the title due to swapping titles with Charlotte Flair, and with the fans still not supporting the creative choice to turn her heel. However, when looking at how this reign developed, with storyline and in-ring quality being as high as it was, and how Lynch managed to develop into a great heel, it must be respected as her best reign to date.

Her feud with Liv Morgan was full of great matches, with Morgan’s stock raising a lot during this feud. Other matches against Doudrop and Lita were great too, with every title defense feeling significant. Her loss of the title was the most important aspect, as she dropped the belt to Bianca Belair at WrestleMania in a match which stole the show and further cemented Belair as a top star. This reign accomplished a lot, and even though it wasn’t as long as her previous stint with the belt, it was much more significant.
