All Elite Wrestling has produced four All Out PPVs, three of them were amazing, especially All Out 2021, which is even considered as one of the best wrestling PPVs of all time. On the other hand, the 2020 edition of All Out was pretty mediocre.

In total there have been 37 All Out matches, most of them were great, some were even so great that they will go down in history as all-time classics. But we also have to admit that there were some terrible matches as well. So, without further ado let's take a look at the five best and five worst matches in AEW All Out PPV history.

10 Best: CM Punk Vs. Jon Moxley (2022)

CM Punk vs Jon Moxley

Certainly, this match was overshadowed by all the controversy behind the scenes, an alleged fight involving CM Punk, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, but no one can deny that this match was amazing.

The build to the match was excellent, with CM Punk losing the AEW World Title to Jon Moxley, showing an unmotivated attitude during a promo, only to end fired up and with all of his fans rooting for him. Punk used that momentum in the match, and managed to defeat Moxley in epic fashion, and now that we know that Punk was injured during the match, it makes his performance even more meritorious.

9 Worst: Paul Wight Vs. QT Marshall (2021)

Paul Wight vs QT Marshall

This was a filler match, perhaps unnecessary, you could say it did not belong in the amazing match card of All Out 2021.

This was basically a three-minute squash match, with Paul Wight showing his strength and power to defeat QT Marshall with no problems. Nevertheless, Paul Wight is well past his prime, and the match was boring and mediocre.

8 Best: The Elite Vs. Adam Page & The Dark Order (2022)

This was the final of the AEW Trios Tournament, an outstanding match, albeit a rather predictable one, as ever since Kenny Omega returned, fans knew that The Elite would be the first Trios Champions.

The story of the match was very interesting, as everyone knows what happened between Adam Page and Omega and The Young Bucks in the past, and it was great to see them face each other again, and everyone did good character work in that aspect, especially Hangman. In terms of in-ring action, the match was top-notch.

7 Worst: Powerhouse Hobbs Vs. Ricky Starks (2022)

Powerhouse Hobbs vs Ricky Starks

This was a great opportunity wasted, as Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks could have delivered a banger, as the storyline was interesting, and these two are pretty good in the ring, each in their own way.

Sadly, this was more of a squash match, in which Hobbs looked like an unstoppable powerhouse, but Starks looked too weak. The match should have been longer, and then Hobbs and Starks would have told a better story.

6 Best: Hikaru Shida Vs. Thunder Rosa (2020)

At All Out 2020, Hikaru Shida successfully defended the AEW Women’s World Title against Thunder Rosa. This was a tremendous match, which perhaps doesn’t get the credit it deserves.

Shida and Rosa showed their talent here, they showed they are among the best female wrestlers in the world. It was a hard-hitting bout, perfectly paced, both women performed good maneuvers and great counters. This match remains one of the best women’s matches in AEW history.

5 Worst: Jade Cargill Vs. Athena (2022)

Jade Cargill she-hulk

Jade Cargill's undefeated streak is becoming a problem, it seems like she's never going to lose, as there isn't a woman in AEW who looks capable of beating her, or at least no woman has been booked that way.

Cargill's TBS Title run has lost a lot of interest, and the build to this match left a lot to be desired. Athena, who had the potential to dethrone Cargill, was not booked in a credible manner. With that said, the match was boring, basic and sloppy.

4 Best: The Lucha Brothers Vs. The Young Bucks (2019)

The Lucha Brothers vs The Young Bucks

On the inaugural All Out PPV, The Lucha Brothers and the Young Bucks completely stole the show. It was a Ladder match for the AAA World Tag Team Championship. They delivered an insane match, a spot fest at its best, just like only these amazing teams know how to do. There were mind-blowing spots and amazing sequences, and it was a fun match to watch from start to finish.

The final stretch of the match was very exciting, with Pentagon being unmasked, some thought he was out of the match, but Rey Fenix bought enough time for Pentagon to put his mask back on and hit a brutal Piledriver on Matt onto a ladder. Thus, the Lucha Brothers retained the titles.

3 Worst: Big Swole Vs. Dr. Britt Baker DMD (2020)

Britt Baker Big Swole

This was a Tooth And Nail Match, and just knowing the stipulation, one can imagine how strange the match was. During the pandemic both WWE and AEW produced cinematic matches, an experiment that had ups and downs, and this match between Big Swole and Britt Baker was probably the worst cinematic match of all.

This match was a disaster, and the simple fact that it was pre-taped, and knowing how bad it was, they decided to put it on as the opening match of the PPV only makes it worse.

2 Best: The Lucha Brothers Vs. The Young Bucks (2021)

The Lucha Bros Vs. The Young Bucks All Out 2021

Once again, The Lucha Brothers and The Young Bucks delivered a match for the ages. This was not only the best match in All Out history, it was one of the best matches in AEW history.

It was an unforgettable Steel Cage match, with insane spots, smooth moves, fluid sequences, a great story, and everything was executed to perfection. These four men have too much chemistry, and that was noticeable in this match. It was a masterpiece, there's not much more to say about it.

1 Worst: Matt Hardy Vs. Sammy Guevara (2020)

Matt Hardy vs Sammy Guevara

Just as the aforementioned match is unforgettable, so is this one, but for the unwanted reasons. This match is infamous because Matt Hardy took a scary bump, he couldn't even stand up after that, but the match wasn't stopped.

In fact, Hardy scaled a scaffold while probably concussed, which was terrifying. This match is unwatchable, one of the worst things that ever happened in AEW.
