Bobby Lashley's storyline injury 'picked up' during the Men's Elimination Chamber match appears to be cover for a legitimate injury that will see him out of action for a number of months.

Lashley walked into Elimination Chamber as WWE Champion, but wasn't even able to finish the match properly. Seth Rollins Buckle Bombed Austin Theory into his pod while he was distracted by Brock Lesnar, causing him to get crushed.

He was then carried out by medics and officials and did not participate in the rest of the match. This led to Brock Lesnar cleaning up the other participants, AJ Styles, Riddle, Seth Rollins and Austin Theory, and winning the WWE Title.

After the match WWE announced that Lashley had "entered concussion protocol and will travel back to the United States under medical supervision to undergo additional evaluation."

Is Bobby Lashley Actually Injured?

In reality, it seems that WWE are using the concussion protocol line as cover for a real injury that Lashley is dealing with.

Former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide reported on The Ringer Wrestling Show that Lashley is set to undergo shoulder surgery and he will be not be wrestling for at least 4 months, which means that he will not be part of WrestleMania.

It was also noted that Lashley has had the injury since at least the Royal Rumble, with it being suggested that during his match with Lesnar during that show he was trying to avoid bumping too much on one shoulder.

Either way it's a massive shame for Bobby Lashley who has been a crucial part of Monday Night RAW for the last year or so because he's not going to miss out on what would've been, you can imagine, a pretty decent spot at WrestleMania.
