Bobby Lashley began his third reign as WWE United States Champion following his victory over Theory at WWE's Money In The Bank premium live event. It all went down at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, July 2. Lashley went one-on-one with defending US champ Theory in the second match of the night. Theory put up a hell of a fight against a stronger and far more experienced opponent, but in the end, it was Lashley who walked away with the gold.Lashley got the win when he knocked Theory out with a Hurt Lock. RELATED: Bobby Lashley Talks Why Hurt Business Was Such An Important FactionAs you might recall, Bobby Lashley's relationship with his now-former mouthpiece MVP came to an end during the April 4 edition of Raw when the dastardly manager betrayed the former WWE Champion and formed an unholy alliance with the giant Omos. Lashley is now one of the biggest babyfaces in the company, and no longer needs a mouthpiece of MVP's caliber as he once did, whereas a manager is just what Omos needs to be elevated to the next level.

Theory became US Champion when he defeated Finn Balor on the April 18 edition of Raw. The Youngest ever US Champ held the title for 75 days, but only successfully defended it twice (and one of those was actually a DQ defeat).

Lashley's first reign with the United Stated Championship began way back in 2006 when he defeated JBL in 84 seconds on an episode of SmackDown. He lost the gold to Fit Finlay 49 days later.
