WrestleMania 39 is still quite a while away, but those months will likely fly by with the Road To WrestleMania beginning in January at the Royal Rumble event. From there, the ball gets rolling, and conventionally it is supposed to be the most exciting time of the WWE calendar.

Although Triple H’s ascent to Head of Creative has seen some positive changes in recent months, there is still a long way to go before WWE is as exciting as it once was, and there is plenty of work for him to do ahead of WrestleMania season, and to ensure that the show is as good as possible.

10 Announce Money In The Bank Plans

There has been some recent talk via WrestleVotes per GiveMeSport that Triple H is looking to end the Money in the Bank PPV and bring the match back to where it began - WrestleMania.

WWE should decide this fairly early on and announce their plans for the future of the match. Having it up in the air takes away the excitement and build they could give the briefcase ahead of its return to the biggest show of the year.

9 Wrap Up The Bobby Lashley Vs Brock Lesnar Feud

Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley have unfinished business following the Crown Jewel PPV, and the signs could point to them battling in a deciding bout at Wrestlemania 39. This is a high-profile match on paper, but their two matches thus far haven’t been anything special.

WWE should instead book this bout for a show such as Survivor Series or the Royal Rumble, and instead build the two up for different matches against other competitors, which would be much fresher and make WrestleMania feel more special.

8 Open The Forbidden Door

Shinsuke Nakamura SmackDown January 15, 2021 Cropped

In a shocking piece of news, Shinsuke Nakamura was recently announced for a NOAH show to take on The Great Muta. In addition, whilst the lines are blurred, there seems to potentially be something brewing between WWE and NJPW as far as Karl Anderson’s NEVER Openweight Title is concerned.

WrestleMania is now a two-night event, and to create even more unpredictability and excitement, working with other promotions could make WWE a more attractive place for wrestlers to come to in order to ensure WrestleMania has star power and unique matchups.

7 Get Edge Away From The Judgment Day

Finn Balor v Edge Extreme Rules 2022 Cropped

Since WrestleMania 38, Edge has been involved with the Judgment Day faction, both as its leader and as an opponent. He was recently written off TV during a match against Finn Balor, though the manner of that loss set up more to their story.

Seeing Edge battle Balor or Priest again would feel a little stale at this point, and although fans have been after long-term stories, Edge may not have lots of time left in the ring, so seeing him face someone different would be better. Before WrestleMania, this feud should be wrapped up, with Edge doing something new instead.

6 Rebuild Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre Brock Lesnar

Two years ago, Drew McIntyre was on top of the world as the number one babyface in WWE. Now though, his booking has been poor to the point where he wouldn’t feel like an exciting part of the main event scene if he is pushed back to title contention.

Whether it be through a heel turn or a great feud, McIntyre needs to be fixed as a character in order to make him feel like a star for WrestleMania 39. Matches against the likes of John Cena, Edge, or even a Brock Lesnar rematch are all interesting prospects, but he needs to be rebuilt before having a match of that caliber.

5 Rhea Ripley Wins The Royal Rumble

Rhea Ripley Luke Gallows

It feels likely that the SmackDown Women’s Title match at WrestleMania will see Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey finally battle in a singles match. WWE will also likely be drawn to perhaps bringing Lynch back to win the Royal Rumble.

However, Lynch has already won a Rumble match, and her story with Rousey is a natural one to build, so it doesn’t need the Rumble. Instead, a new star needs to be made in Rhea Ripley. A big Rumble victory and match against Bianca Belair should be the direction WWE goes in, instead of relying on the Four Horsewomen.

4 Fix The Women’s Tag Team Division

Sasha-Banks-And-Naomi

Even under Triple H’s new regime, the Women’s Tag Team division is still suffering from a lack of storylines, taking a backseat to singles feuds, and showcasing a division of thrown-together duos.

If WWE is to bring back Sasha Banks and Naomi, then serious work needs to be done in the division, otherwise, their return will feel like a flop. WWE has a lot of time before WrestleMania to get this division up and running.

3 Find An Opponent For Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt at Crown Jewel Cropped

Bray Wyatt’s recent WWE return has seen him enter a feud with what looks like himself and his inner demons. The storytelling has been great thus far, but when it comes to WrestleMania, he needs a match against someone else on the roster.

Wyatt has won just one match at WrestleMania throughout his career, so he needs a big win at the show to firmly prove that this run is going to be different. He needs to do that against a big name, and against someone who isn’t representing his inner conflict. Prior to WrestleMania, this is all fine, but for the Showcase of the Immortals, he needs a high-profile bout.

2 Convince The Rock To Come Back

WWE’s biggest money match available is Roman Reigns Vs The Rock. Sure, having a part-timer taking a major spot has been looked down upon, but to further Reigns’ status and propel him to greater heights, this match needs to happen.

WWE needs to do all it can to tie down The Rock to a match, which would help in their build to WrestleMania. Steve Austin’s status was up in the air last year, so there could be no proper build behind his return, so sorting out The Rock asap should be a priority.

1 Sami Zayn Full Face Turn

Sami Zayn is an Honorary Uce

Sami Zayn is technically playing a heel, but he is slowly becoming the most over name in WWE, with him on the brink of a full babyface turn. WWE should still continue with the slow pace that they are building his story with The Bloodline, but by the time WrestleMania rolls around, he needs to be a full-blown babyface.

Having Zayn overcome members of The Bloodline at WrestleMania would no doubt be a huge moment, and Triple H needs to ensure that they don’t miss the boat on turning him face at the right time.
