Former WWE superstar Bray Wyatt (real name Windham Rotunda) is slated to make his first post-WWE appearance this Sunday.

Wyatt has been announced for the Showcase of Legends event that will take place at the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany, New York this Sunday. The event will also include Trish Stratus, Dr. Britt Baker, Dustin Rhodes, Torrie Wilson, Jazz, Matt Cardona, Rikishi, Mia Yim, Scarlett Bourdeaux, Erick Rowan and Evil Uno.

The 34-year-old Wyatt was released from his WWE contract on July 31 of last year. Though WWE has conducted a long series of budget cuts over the past two years, Wyatt's release was especially surprising since he was among the company's most popular, creative and accomplished superstars.

Wyatt had been kept off of television for several months prior to his release from WWE. The former Universal Champion has been mostly quiet on the subject of his WWE departure. Wyatt and Vince McMahon reportedly didn't see eye-to-eye, and the WWE chairman apparently started to dislike Wyatt for being openly critical of the creative team.

It was also reported that Wyatt was released because of budget cuts even though he was one of the company's top merchandise sellers. Wyatt's 90-day non-compete clause expired back in late October, but it's anybody's guess when he'll actually return to professional wrestling.

Bray Wyatt's Final WWE Match

It's hard to believe that it's been nearly a year since Wyatt's final match in WWE. It took place on day two of WrestleMania 37, where Wyatt lost to Randy Orton via pinfall. Alexa Bliss betrayed Wyatt early in the match, and Orton attacked his stunned opponent to pick up an easy and quick victory.

Wyatt appeared on the post-WrestleMania 37 edition of Monday Night Raw. He announced that he was seeking a fresh start in a "Fireflly Fun House" segment. Little did the wrestling world know that this would be his final televised appearance with the company.
