Bret Hart has sought to distance himself from the rumors pointing to a move to AEW. The former WWE and WCW superstar seemed unaware of the talk surrounding a potential deal with the promotion during a recent event, though he may have simply been trying to keep it under wraps.

There’s lots of speculation over Hart joining AEW as a manager. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of TR recently fired Tully Blanchard, and it’s since been rumored that Hart could be the one who steps in as a replacement.

Harwood and Wheeler are big Bret Hart fans and, as of late, have become friends with the wrestling icon, who has returned the admiration.

Hart was participating in a virtual signing for Signed By Superstars and responded “Go there and do what?” when asked if he will be going to AEW. He did appear to be genuinely confused.

As mentioned above, Hart could be trying to keep his signing a surprise. But there may also be no truth to the rumors.

Bret Hart Is Pretty Familiar With AEW

The Hitman has appeared for AEW in the past and was the one who unveiled the company’s World Heavyweight title at Double or Nothing in 2019. He appears to be in great shape at the moment, having posted a photo of himself with some members of the Calgary Flames a few days ago.

Meanwhile, AEW will begin the qualifiers for the women’s part of the Owen Hart Cup next week, with The Bunny to go head-to-head against a mystery new signing.
