Bobby Lashley won a Fatal Four-Way match on this week's edition of Raw to earn a shot at Brock Lesnar's WWE Championship.

It all went down at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina on the first Raw of 2022. In the main event, Lashley, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Big E battled it out to determine the number-one contender. Lashley got the win when he pinned Kevin Owens after hitting him with three Spears in a row.

Lashley will now face Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble premium live event on Saturday, January 29 in what will be the first-ever singles encounter between the two men. Lashley and Lesnar had never even shared a ring together until last Saturday when they both competed in the Fatal Five-Way main event of WWE Day 1 during which Lesnar won the WWE Championship.

By the time Bobby Lashley debuted in WWE in 2005, Brock Lesnar had already left the company to pursue other ventures. When Lesnar returned to WWE in 2012, Lashley had been gone from WWE for five years. Lashley returned in 2018, which meant that he and Lesnar were finally on the same roster at the same time.

Despite being on the same roster for three years, a match between the two never came to fruition, and Lashley thinks he knows why

Because the people around him don’t want to make it happen,” Lashley alleged during a recent chat with Josh Martinez on YouTube. “I’m always prepared. I am in my final run, I have a few years left, but I am open for anything. I train, I’m always in shape, I’m always ready to go. So, it’s never something where you have to call me up and you have to wait months and weeks, I am ready to go right now,” the former WWE Champion added.

Well, Bobby ... it's finally happening. Good luck.
