Last year, on December 26, the wrestling world learned that Jon Huber, better known to fans as WWE's Luke Harper and AEW's Brodie Lee, had passed away. The news came as a shock to almost everyone. Although Huber had been off TV for a short while, no one other than those close to him, including a number of people in AEW, were aware of how serious the situation was.

Brodie Lee's Birthday

It's hard to believe that almost an entire year has gone by since Huber passed away. While the wrestling world has far from forgotten about the former TNT Champion and everything he did both in his career and his personal life, a brighter spotlight than usual has been shone on his memory this week. That's because on December 16, this past Thursday, Huber would have been turning 42.

Not just an unwelcome reminder to everyone that Huber is no longer with us, but one reminding everybody just how young he was when he passed away. A number of people have been paying tribute to Huber all over again, posting happy birthday messages for their fallen friend. Both WWE and AEW shared heartfelt messages, as did a number of those in the business who were close to Huber.

Tributes Pouring In

Chris Jericho posted a photo of himself, Huber, Cesaro, and Bray Wyatt all posing together. Speaking of The Wyatts, Erick Rowan, who now goes by Erick Redbeard in the wrestling business, posted a photo of the two of them together on a plane. AEW held a tribute show shortly after Huber passed away on which an incredibly emotional Redbeard made a one-off appearance for the company.

AEW boss Tony Khan also shared a heartfelt message, while Huber's close friend Big E retweeted a collection of photos Huber's wife Amanda shared to celebrate what would have been her husband's birthday. It will be both heartwarming and incredibly tough for those who were closest to Huber over the next two weeks. Not just because his birthday falls just ten days before he passed away, but also because his family will be spending Christmas without him. Our thoughts go out to the Huber family and all of his closest friends right now.
