SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair seemingly responded to recent rumors regarding an apparent backstage confrontation between her and Becky Lynch.

At the end of last week's SmackDown, Sonya Deville had Flair (drafted to SmackDown) hand Lynch (drafted to Raw) the Raw Women's Championship. Flair was reportedly unhappy with the segment, fearing that it would make her look weak. This reportedly led to a heated backstage confrontation between the two talents.

Reports stated that Deville and Vince McMahon were also furious with Flair, who was apparently escorted out of the arena by security. At any rate, The Queen was present for last night's episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, defeating Shotzi in a singles match. After the bout, Sasha Banks entered the ring to comfort Shotzi. However, the latter proceeded to attack Banks, thus turning heel.

Early on Saturday morning, Flair seemingly responded to the latest backstage reports by tweeting the following:

Banks interruped the title exchanging segment last week, briefly fighting the SmackDown Women's Champion before Deville broke it up. So it appears as though Banks will be the next challenger for Flair's title. As for Lynch, she will defend the Raw Women's Championship against Bianca Belair on next week's episode of Monday Night Raw.

At this point, it looks like WWE isn't going to discipline Flair or anyone involved in the backstage confrontation. Of course, if Charlotte and Lynch manage to retain their respective titles going into Survivor Series, they'll presumably face off in a Champion vs. Champion match. Whether or not WWE will change the plans due to the reported backstage confrontation remains to be seen, though.

Details On Charlotte's WWE Contract

The SmackDown Women's Champion reportedly has more than a year remaining on her WWE deal, so that should cool down any rumors about her possibly looking to join AEW. Charlotte remains one of the top main event stars in WWE, and it's hard to think that one backstage confrontation would prompt the company to make any drastic changes regarding the long-term plans for her.
