Wrestling Twitter was set ablaze on Sunday night and the fire has been burning since, and not because All Out was such a great show. In the time fans should have been talking about the return of MJF, they were instead watching CM Punk call out AEW's EVPs and publicly bury Hangman Page. That reportedly resulted in a number of stars clashing backstage.

CM Punk Really Is Injured

The consequences of that altercation have become clearer over the course of the past 24 hours. Apparently, seven people have been suspended, including Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. Tony Khan also revealed on Dynamite that Punk has been stripped of the AEW Title, and The Elite of the Trios Titles. The Trios Championships were won by Death Triangle immediately after that announcement.

What remains unclear, other than him losing the title for a second time, is the fate of Punk. The Second City Saint was not a part of the suspended star list, reportedly because he was due to meet with Khan on Wednesday and might even be let go by AEW. Whether that happens or not, it's going to be a while before you see Punk in any sort of wrestling ring again.

Out For At Least Six Months

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the rumors that Punk injured himself during All Out's main event, which have been buried somewhat by everything else, are true. Not only are they true, but the injury is so severe that Punk needs surgery and is expected to miss the next six to eight months. It's believed the injury was sustained when Punk performed a tope suicida onto Jon Moxley.

Punk being forced to take that much time off might be a good thing. It could mean Khan has suspended the two-time champion without actually having to say it, and it also means no one involved in the altercation has to see Punk for the next six months. If they can move past all this and work together when Punk is healed, it could lead to all of this being used to build to a pretty epic angle and clash, perhaps between Punk and Omega.
