Whatever happened between CM Punk and The Elite after All Out might be long in the rearview mirror at this point, but not everything revolving around the situation has been settled yet. While Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks have returned to AEW TV, and are now Trios Champions, Punk remains absent and his status is yet to be addressed, at least not publicly.

CM Punk vs. MJF: Feud Of The Year

Punk also hasn't said much about the situation, possibly because of legal repercussions that are preventing him from doing so. That hasn't stopped the two-time AEW Champion from making a few related comments on Instagram lately, though. The most recent of which was posted this week in response to MJF proudly holding his two PWI end-of-year awards.

MJF won awards for feud of the year and most hated wrestler of the year. Look closely at the former and you'll notice the current AEW Champion has placed a piece of tape over Punk's name, the other winner of PWI's feud of the year award. Obviously an attempt to stir the pot by MJF and well, mission accomplished. His rival in the feud of the year has responded via a shot at how many people are watching AEW without him.

Put Some Tape Over The Ratings

“Maybe find some tape for the ratings so nobody sees those either,” Punk replied. Unsurprisingly the reply that appears right at the top of the thread right now, assuring MJF has seen it and had it confirmed that he got the reaction he desired. It's the second shot Punk has taken at AEW's number since he left, recently sharing a graphic showing the most viewed AEW videos on YouTube in 2022, many of which featured The Second City Saint.

It's not beyond the realm of possibility that Punk eventually returns to AEW. The recovering wrestler, who needed surgery after his AEW Title match at All Out, replied to a fan pointing out that all of this could be resolved if he and The Elite could just agree to leave everything in the past. Punk seems to be up for doing that if possible, but it's also likely that ship has long since sailed.
