Cody Rhodes scored a televised victory on WWE's flagship show for the first time since 2015 on this week's edition of Monday Night Raw on USA Network.

It all went down at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan on April 11. The show opened with a MIZ TV segment during which The Miz berated Cody Rhodes for attempting to upstage him. The Miz said that Cody has been coasting on his family name, and Cody said that Miz hadn't changed. Cody then reiterated his intentions and said he was back to face the best "wrestlers" and win the WWE Championship "belt". The Miz corrected Rhodes, reminding the former AEW star that WWE has Superstars and titles, not wrestlers and belts. AS the segment drew to a close, The Miz attempted to attack Cody, but Cody dodged and Miz fell out of the ring.

Later in the night, Cody and The Miz went one-on-one in what was Cody's first televised Raw match since 2016 (he faced Kevin Owens in a post-show dark match following last week's Raw). Cody got the win after hitting Miz with a Cross Rhodes for the 1-2-3. The victory marked Cody's first on Raw since the July 13, 2015 edition of Raw, on which he defeated Neville (PAC). It was his first Raw win under his real name since 2014.

As you might recall, Cody made his triumphant and highly-anticipated return to WWE on WrestleMania Saturday when he was revealed as Seth Rollins' mystery opponent. Cody came out on top following a brilliant match and opened up the subsequent edition of Raw with a promo in which he said he came back to WWE to finally fulfill the Rhodes family legacy.

Cody's in-ring WWE career began back in 2007 following a stint in its developmental promotion oVw. His WrestleMania 38 appearance was his first on WWE programming since he walked away from the company in 2016. Prior to WrestleMania Saturday, Cody's last match in a WWE ring was a loss to Zack Ryder (Matt Cardona) on an episode of WWE Superstars.
