Following news that Liv Morgan has suffered an injury serious enough to force the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships to be relinquished, there is also news that Dakota Kai is seriously injured, something Bayley and Iyo Sky alluded to on the most recent episode of SmackDown. Unfortunately, it sounds like Kai's injury is more than just a small bump or minor setback. She could be out for some time.

On Monday, Dakota Kai's injury was confirmed as a torn ACL. Reports from Dave Meltzer noted that the injury took place in the same match Liv Morgan was injured in and word was that she was injured after Morgan suffered her shoulder injury. Ironically, it came in a spot where she knew Morgan was hurt and was trying to protect her opponent from further serious injury complications. As a result, Morgan and Kai are both going to be out for an extended period of time.

Meltzer noted on F4WOnline.com that Kai was doing her best to make sure Morgan didn't do any more damage than needed but also get through the match. He adds Dakota is scheduled for surgery tomorrow and according to Clevelandclinic.org, ”most people recover from an ACL tear within six to nine months.”

Wishing Dakota Kai A Speedy Recovery

It's one thing to be hurt in a match where something goes wrong. It's another to be hurt while trying to protect your opponent. We wish Dakota Kai a speedy and healthy recovery, especially since she appears to have suffered an injury worse than the person she was trying to help. There was talk that Kai was in line for a significant heel push. Since returning to WWE she has won the women's tag titles twice.

This has been a rough few days for injuries to women in the wrestling industry. Dakota Kai, Mercedes Mone, and Liv Morgan all suffered injuries that will keep them out of the ring for some time.
