Thanks to help from Nikki Cross, Damage CNTRL are the Women's Tag Team Champions again. In the second match of the night, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky defeated Alexa Bliss and Asuka to regain their tag team titles and this is now their second run as the champions.

This was a solid match that had some back-and-forth action, but it was Cross who made the difference as she stopped Bliss from hitting a Twisted Bliss off the top rope, and delivered her own finisher while everyone else was distracted and rolled out of the ring. That allowed Kai to come back, take the pin on a fallen Bliss and win the titles for her team. Everyone was shocked, including the new champions as no one seemed to be aware that Cross was even in attendance.

There were hints that this might be what happened on Saturday. During the media conference on Friday, Kai mentioned that the title plates hadn't even been changed on the belts. There was also talk from announced Wade Barrett that the first few days of a new champion's reign were always the hardest. Then, just prior to Bliss and Asuka coming to the ring, while Bliss was being interviewed, something with Bray Wyatt flashed on the screen and she was clearly distracted by it. That could be a hint that she'll be working some sort of program with Wyatt in the future.

Another Major Storyline Development

This was the second big change at Crown Jewel as Lashley seemingly turned heel in the first match of the night. Typically, these shows don't have a lot of storyline advancement or title changes. Under Triple H, it seems like WWE is going all in and treating these shows as though they are major pay-per-views with huge implications.
