These iconic wrestling championships are no longer active, but these wrestlers have an unwanted record of holding these championships for the shortest amount of time. Throughout the history of professional wrestling, championships in WWE and WCW have come and gone. The likes of Triple H and Batista held the title for over 250 days. The majority of wrestling fans remember long title reigns because of the length that a champion held a championship for. Unfortunately, some wrestlers had short championship reigns that were humiliating. In some instances, some title reigns were abrupt because one title was absorbed into another championship. However, some wrestlers managed to lose a championship on the same night after winning it.

10 WWE Light Heavyweight Championship - Scotty 2 Hotty (8 Days)

The WWE Light Heavyweight Championship was WWE's property from 1997-2001. The likes of X-Pac and Taka Michinoku held the championship. However, on the April 17, 2000, edition of Raw, Scotty 2 Hotty defeated Dean Malenko to clinch the Light Heavyweight Title.

It was Scotty's first piece of hardware in WWE, while his tag team partner Grand Master Sexay was on the shelf with an injury. Scotty's title reign was never going to last for long, and the Man of 1,000 holds regained the Light Heavyweight Championship eight days later on an episode of SmackDown.

9 WCW Cruiserweight Championship - Psychosis (1 Hour)

On the October 4, 1999, edition of Nitro, Psychosis was handed the WCW Cruiserweight Championship. Psychosis was in his second reign with the championship, and he defended the title against Disco Inferno.

Psychosis had a dreadful time as WCW Cruiserweight Champion as his title reign was not long for this world. He dropped the strap to Disco Inferno on the same night. Lenny Lane was the previous titleholder, but he was stripped of the title because of his gimmick, which portrayed homosexual stereotypes.

8 WWE Women's Championship - Mickie James (1 Hour)

Title changes rarely happen on house shows, but that's what exactly happened on April 24, 2007. Mickie James regained the WWE Women's Championship from Melina in Paris, France. She defeated Melina in a triple threat match with two-time Women's Champion Victoria also involved in proceedings.

That same night, fans were treated to another Women's Championship match with Mickie defending her newly won title against Melina. Unfortunately, it was for heartbreak for Mickie as Melina recaptured the Women's Title. Mickie's third Women's Championship reign is the shortest in history.

7 World Tag Team Championship - Edge & Christian (<1 Hour)

On the March 19, 2001, edition of Raw, Edge, and Christian challenged The Hardy Boyz for the World Tag Team Championship. Edge and Christian were up to no good, and they took the Dudleys' title opportunity for themselves.

With a helping hand from Rhyno, Edge and Christian became six-time Tag Team Champions. It was the first time that Edge and Christian had won the Tag Team Championship on Raw. However, they didn't get the last laugh as almost 40 minutes later, they defended their titles against The Dudley Boyz. The "Damn Dudleys" dethroned Edge and Christian with the Canadians having the shortest Tag Team Championship reign in WWE history.

6 WCW Championship - Chris Jericho (13 Minutes & 30 Seconds)

After Survivor Series 2001, WWE decided to unify the WWE and WCW Championships to have one sole World Champion. Therefore, at Vengeance 2001, Steve Austin retained the WWE Championship against Kurt Angle, and Chris Jericho beat The Rock to become a two-time World Champion. The luck of the draw was not in Y2J's favor as he immediately faced Austin after he dethroned The Rock.

Jericho and Austin contested the final with the winner becoming the Undisputed WWE Champion. With interference from Booker T, Jericho outlasted the Texas Rattlesnake and thus became the first-ever Undisputed WWE Champion. Y2J was the final WCW Champion and the shortest reigning WCW Champion at 13 minutes and 30 seconds with the title absorbed into the WWE Title.

5 WWE Divas Championship - Jillian Hall (5 Minutes)

Mickie James was doing a good job as Divas Champion, and on the October 12, 2009, episode of Raw, she defended her title against Jillian Hall. Unquestionably, Mickie was a heavy favorite to win this match. Surprisingly, Jillian upset Mickie to win the WWE Divas Championship.

Jillian was a transitional champion as Melina returned to Raw after a stint on SmackDown. Jillian was desperate not to defend the Divas Championship. Moreover, Melina wasn't going to pass up on the opportunity presented to her, and she dismantled Jillian with ease to become Divas Champion for the first time in her career. Jillian held the title for barely five minutes, which was humiliating.

4 WWE European Championship - Rob Van Dam (5 Minutes)

Rob Van Dam was the king of unifying championships into his Intercontinental Title in the summer of 2002. In July 2002, RVD faced off with his old adversary Jeff Hardy in a title unification ladder match with the European Championship heading into retirement after this bout.

They hit a home run in a superb title match. RVD and Jeff's chemistry is second to none, and RVD sealed the deal by retrieving the Intercontinental Championship. Although RVD didn't physically hold the title, he is recognized as the final European Champion with his reign lasting five minutes.

3 ECW Championship - Ezekiel Jackson (<5 Minutes)

The ECW Championship finally met its demise on the final episode of ECW in February 2010. Christian is arguably the greatest ECW Champion under the WWE banner. Nevertheless, Captain Charisma defended the ECW Championship against Ezekiel Jackson.

Jackson was a powerhouse, but he wasn't a very good worker. However, he has the distinction of becoming the final wrestler to hold the ECW Championship. The title switch was a shock, but it meant nothing as ECW was no longer in operation with Jackson's ECW Title reign ending abruptly.

2 World Heavyweight Championship - Randy Orton (1 Minute)

In 2013, at TLC, Randy Orton's WWE Championship and John Cena's World Heavyweight Championship were hanging in the balance in a title unification match. Two of the all-time greats produced a decent championship match for their standards.

The night belonged to the Viper who beat Cena to hold the WWE and World Heavyweight Titles. Moving forward Orton was known as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. His fourth and final World Heavyweight Championship lasted a minute with the Big Gold Belt ceasing to exist. Although, Orton would carry both belts until his title reign was ended at WrestleMania 30.

1 WWE Hardcore Championship - Terri Runnels (8 Seconds)

The Hardcore Championship would be no more by the end of August 2002, but the 24/7 rule still threw up some surprising champions. On the May 27, 2002, episode of Raw, Terri Runnels was interviewing Hardcore Champion Steven Richards and Jacqueline in the backstage area.

Richards was taken down by Jacqueline and Big Boss Man. Amid the chaos, Terri pinned Richards to become the fourth and final woman to capture the Hardcore Championship. Terri's joy was short-lived as Richards immediately rolled up Terri to regain the Hardcore Title with Terri's reign lasting a tame eight seconds.
