Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux returned to WWE on last week's episode of SmackDown, and it certainly looks like WWE doesn't want to waste any time in pushing the former.

Prior to last week's SmackDown show, it was reported that Triple H would look at bringing back the two-time NXT Champion. Vince McMahon had released plenty of Triple H's favorite stars over the past two years, but the former's retirement has changed everything. Triple H took over as the new Head of Talent Relations as well as the leader of WWE creative, and some of his first major moves including bringing back Kross, Bordeaux and Dakota Kai.

Kross attacked Drew McIntyre at the end of SmackDown last week, leading to speculation that he could be added to the McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match at Clash at the Castle. This reportedly isn't in WWE's plans.

On Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t WrestlingNews.co), Dave Meltzer reported that the plan remains for McIntyre and Reigns to meet in a singles match at Clash at the Castle, which will run on Sept. 3 inside Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

"By the way, for Cardiff, it is still Roman and Drew. And I was told, of course, this can always change, but I was told that it’s really not gonna change," Meltzer said. "They feel that has to be the match. They don't want to be whatever...so as far as when (Kross) gets his shot at Roman Reigns because obviously, they’re building to that, I have no idea when that will be."

Clash at the Castle WWE Drew McIntyre Roman Reigns

McIntyre defeated Sheamus on the July 29 SmackDown show to become the No. 1 contender for Reigns' title. The Tribal Chief recently surpassed the 700-day mark as the Universal Champion, and he'll hit the two-year mark on Aug. 30. Another stat worth noting: McIntyre has never once defeated Reigns, including house show matches.

Karrion Kross Will Get His Opportunity

Kross was a victim of universally panned booking after joining the main WWE roster. But Kross and Bordeaux get much-needed fresh starts with Triple H now leading the way, and The Game seemingly won't wait long to push the former NXT Champion into the main event scene.

A simple confrontation with McIntyre is a strong indicator that WWE is planning to use Kross as a top star on SmackDown going forward. Needless to say, it'll be interesting to see how WWE books him before and after Clash at the Castle.
