It won't be long until Ronda Rousey is back in the WWE ring, according to a report.

Rousey lost her SmackDown Women's Championship match to Liv Morgan via pinfall (albeit in controversial fashion) at WWE SummerSlam 2022 on Saturday. This came just four weeks after The Baddest Woman on the Planet lost her title to Morgan, who enjoyed a successful Money in the Bank cash-in at the MITB pay-per-view.

With the victory, Morgan became the first WWE superstar to beat Rousey via pinfall or submission twice. Becky Lynch was the first to beat Rousey at WrestleMania 35, and Charlotte Flair upset the former UFC star at WrestleMania 38 four months ago. WWE later announced a suspension and fine to Rousey for attacking an official at SummerSlam. So, what does WWE have in store for Rousey?

On Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t WrestlingNews.co), Dave Meltzer reported that Rousey is scheduled for the Sept. 3 Clash at the Castle pay-per-view. The show will run inside Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on Sept. 3.

"She’s booked on the Cardiff (Clash at the Castle) show, so she’s going to be unsuspended at least before...I don’t know when she comes back," Meltzer said. "She’ll be out for I don’t know how long, but it’s not going to be a month. Put it that way because she’s got to be back for the pay-per-view show."

Ronda Rousey cuts a promo

For what it's worth, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com reported that Becky Lynch is internally listed as the No. 2 babyface on Raw behind Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair. Interestingly, Johnson added that Rousey is internally listed as SmackDown's main babyface, even though her actions at SummerSlam suggest that she's a heel now.

This week's edition of SmackDown could give us a good idea of how WWE plans to book Rousey going forward. Perhaps we'll also get an idea on her opponent for Clash at the Castle.

One Confirmed Match For Clash At The Castle

The lone confirmed match thus far for Clash at the Castle is Drew McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. WWE will likely want to stack the card for the show, so it would be a surprise if they exluced Rousey from the highly-anticipated event.
