Drew McIntyre's most memorable moment was leading Monday Night Raw through WWE's COVID-19 era. Despite WWE's COVID-19 era being considered, by many, to be one of the lowest points of Monday Night Raw history, Drew McIntyre thrived as the central figure of the entire program by becoming a two-time WWE Champion. Though many fans and critics alike felt he was over-pushed in the WWE title scene, Drew McIntyre is deserving of praise for carrying the WWE Championship during one of the lowest points of Monday Night Raw history.

Drew McIntyre's Rise To Stardom

Drew McIntyre has come a long way to get where he's at in the current state of his career. Going back to even the later years of the "Ruthless Aggression" years, Drew McIntyre has struggled to find his footing within WWE during his first stint with the company. Drew McIntyre eventually got released by the company in 2014, despite being pushed as "The Chosen One."

Later developing a new look and adopting an aggressive attitude, Drew McIntyre later became WWE's top premier superstar on the main roster as he was brought back to the company in 2017. Drew McIntyre is not only a former two-time WWE Champion but has a Wrestlemania main-event win under his belt.

From being a part of 3MB to later winning the WWE Championship from wrestlers like Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton, the rise of Drew McIntyre in WWE is inspiring on a grand scale. His success showcases that other departed wrestlers can come back even better than when they were once before, as one can look at the recently returning Cody Rhodes, for example.

Drew McIntyre's WWE title reigns represent that inspiration other wrestlers can aspire to be. Because of what Drew McIntyre accomplished as WWE Champion, who's to say other released superstars can't achieve the same thing.

Drew McIntyre Becomes A Viable Option Leading Monday Night Raw Through COVID-19

Being the top babyface on Raw, WWE went out of their way to ensure Drew McIntyre was booked strong during his championship reigns. And rightfully so, considering Drew McIntyre has to win a vast majority of his matches to be taken seriously as the main babyface.

However, despite Drew McIntyre leading the way through the COVID-19 era of WWE, many felt that he was over-pushed to where he was getting too many title shots. Even after losing his WWE Championship for the last time, many criticized WWE's booking of Drew McIntyre constantly being in the mix of world title contention.

While there's no denying that WWE can utilize more of its talent, Drew McIntyre's involvement with the WWE Championship stems from WWE's lack of building star power rather than Drew McIntyre himself. There is a lack of depth regarding main-event level talent, but Drew McIntyre himself isn't to blame.

WWE's lack of credible main-event level babyfaces during its COVID-19 era didn't give them many options. Seth Rollins was getting rejected as Champion, and Roman Reigns wasn't getting the intended babyface reactions at the time.

Because of this, one can argue that they had no other choice but to insert Drew McIntyre as a believable champion. Even if some thought he wasn't ready for that position, McIntyre deserves credit for at least stepping up to a role that gets the most scrutiny from critics and fans alike.

Drew McIntyre Deserved To Be WWE Champion

Regardless of how some feel about Drew McIntyre's WWE title reigns, carrying Monday Night Raw in front of no fans in attendance can't be an easy task. After winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36 in front of no attendees, Drew McIntyre was at an all-time disadvantage for someone whose given the role as the number-one babyface of the company.

Considering every superstar who's been the top babyface receives their fair share of criticism, Drew McIntyre's champion reigns had many obstacles alongside performing in front of no fans. Drew McIntyre wasn't the perfect champion, but he was arguably one of the most deserving wrestlers on the roster to be carrying the WWE Championship during WWE's COVID-19 era. Not just in a sense where he was protected to look strong but the talent he showcased while being WWE Champion.

From hard-hitting heavyweight clashes with Randy Orton and Roman Reigns, for instance, Drew McIntyre has shown countless times that his abilities in the ring are deserving of a WWE Championship reign.

Drew McIntyre Is An Established Main-Event Superstar

Drew McIntyre's past title reigns are one of the reasons why he's currently thriving as the number one babyface on Smackdown. That warrants Drew McIntyre the credit he deserves as one of the WWE's most recent success stories.
