Unfortunately, Eddie Guerrero passed away too early, and although wrestling fans will remember him forever in their memories and hearts, there are still many things that many fans do not know about him, both about his career and his personal life. Without further ado, let's take a look at eight things fans may not know about Latino Heat.

8 Backstage Fight With Kurt Angle

Recently, Kurt Angle, was a guest on Talk Is Jericho, where he gave details about his backstage fight with Eddie Guerrero.

Angle explained that after a match, Eddie was very upset with him and confronted him in the locker room. So, Angle pushed him and Eddie didn't hesitate to double-leg him, which was a big mistake as Angle reversed the situation easily. Angle took Guerrero down and choked him with a front headlock until Big Show came in and separated them like they were two kids fighting.

But the fight didn't end there. "I go to Eddie's locker room to apologize. He opens the door and I said, 'Eddie, listen. I just want to say I'm sorry.' Angle said. "You know what Eddie said to me? 'I'm not ready yet.' So, I go inside and I started whacking him. I'm fighting Eddie, we are throwing punches and Bradshaw pulled us apart."

7 Guerrero Didn’t Like His Lie, Cheat, & Steal Gimmick

Ironically, the gimmick that ended up elevating Eddie Guerrero was the one he liked the least, as he felt it dishonored him and his family. He didn't agree with the vignettes that were produced about lying, cheating, and stealing, but finally, the writing staff managed to convince him to do it.

Eddie always played his roles excellently, but his character work with this gimmick was phenomenal, even though he wasn't comfortable doing it.

6 He Was In So Much Pain

Those people who say that wrestling is fake should try to find out if the pain is fake too. The high cost of wrestling is precisely the pain that Superstars suffer.

Eddie Guerrero suffered a lot of pain throughout his career. He battled several injuries and in his last year, he could no longer stand the pain. Bob "Hardcore" Holly expresses in his book how much Eddie suffered in the locker room, he spent a lot of time in the physio's room, took pain pills, and drank energy drinks before going out to the ring.

In general, Eddie Guerrero got along pretty well with his co-workers, but there were a handful of wrestlers that he never clicked with. One of the wrestlers Eddie simply couldn't stand was Kevin Nash.

In his book, Guerrero described Nash as an arrogant and evil person, who used his backstage power to stay on top and bury other talents. In addition, Eddie questioned the in-ring skills of Nash, who was certainly never an extraordinary performer.

Latino Heat returned to WWE and became Intercontinental Champion after defeating Rob Van Dam at Backlash 2002, but he had agreed to an appearance at an ROH event. So, a few days after winning the Intercontinental Title, Guerrero appeared at the ROH Night Of Appreciation event, where he won two matches. It isn't usual for a WWE wrestler to have a match outside the company, let alone as a champion.

2 Black Tiger

Black Tiger

Eddie Guerrero was one of the first wrestlers of Mexican descent to voluntarily wrestle without a mask. This was because he wanted to make a difference, and boy did he do it.

However, in the early years of his career when he worked in Japan, he did wear a mask and called himself Black Tiger.

His work in Japan was excellent, he even delivered some fantastic matches like his match against Wild Pegasus on the 17th night of Best Of The Super Junior III. However, the best version of Eddie was without the mask, as he was able to unleash his unmatched charisma.

The five-star match was on November 6, 1994, at AAA When Worlds Collide. Guerrero teamed with Love Machine in their loss to El Hijo Del Santo and Octagon in a Masks Vs. Hair Best Two Out Of Three Falls Tag Team Match.
