WWE Hall of Famer, Edge, has recently enlisted the aid of Damian Priest, with it being heavily rumored that this new alliance is the start of a stable on Monday Night Raw. There have allegedly been several superstar pitches for potential members of this group, with the likes of former NXT Champion, Tommaso Ciampa, in the mix. One name that stands out above everyone else, is Rhea Ripley. Ripley is someone with a world of potential, but the final ingredient to unlocking the door for her to reach the next level is joining this stable led by Edge.

WWE Has Gotten It All Wrong With Rhea Ripley So Far

During her time in NXT, Rhea Ripley proved herself to be one of the most promising young stars on the developmental brand, climbing her way up the card until she became NXT Champion, defeating the previously unstoppable Shayna Baszler in a great moment, making it clear that even with her size and strength advantage over many, she could be an underdog babyface if needed. Hopes were initially for Ripley, as she would defend the NXT Championship at WrestleMania 36 against Charlotte Flair.

Due to the pandemic, Ripley’s moment in front of the fans was taken away from her, and even though she put in a strong performance, it was never going to be as impactful in the Performance Centre. To make matters worse, she would lose to Flair, losing all her momentum at the same time. It would take nearly a near to fully recover, as she remained in NXT. At the WrestleMania 37, Ripley became a last-minute replacement for Flair in the Raw Women’s Championship match against Asuka – and she won, finally receiving that WrestleMania moment.

However, there was a huge lack of a proper build when it came to her title win, and WWE couldn’t decide whether to make her heel or babyface, resulting in an awkward character. It wasn’t long until she dropped the title to Flair, before becoming just another name in the Tag Team division, swapping partners, and flailing around with no character development, or any substantial feuds to speak of, not even an extended program with former partner Nikki ASH, who had turned on her. Ripley’s main roster run so far may have had championships, but it has been poor in the grand scheme of things.

Rhea Ripley Has An Unbelievable Amount Of Potential

It is easy to forget that Ripley is just 25 years old, and there aren’t too many on the main roster with that sort of youth. Ripley isn’t completely polished as an overall performer just yet, but she is still fantastic for her age, and already has a wealth of experience, and that is why WWE should be pushing her as one of the top stars in the women’s division, and not as an afterthought. In fact, the division as a whole needs to be treated better, as WWE has backpedaled a little from their previously great progress with women’s wrestling.RELATED: 10 WWE Pictures Of Rhea Ripley Like You've Never Seen Her

Ripley is just one of many examples of WWE dropping the ball over the last year, with the likes of Liv Morgan, Nikki ASH, and Toni Storm all being names who were formally in and around the title picture, but dropped significantly, with one even leaving the company due to this bad booking. Not all hope is lost for Ripley though, with her being rumored to be joining Edge and Damian Priest in a new stable that is set to take Raw by storm.

Edge’s New Faction Can Boost Ripley And The Women’s Division

It isn’t often that WWE has a mixed stable with male and female superstars, so it will certainly allow Ripley to stand out much more prominently. Having the backing of a multi-time world champion in Edge is already helping Priest’s standing in WWE, and that is after just spending one week by his side. Ripley is someone who will fit perfectly in the dark and brooding stable, and these additions are making Edge’s new gimmick not seem so bad.

Allowing Ripley to join this faction will help to propel her forwards, and it could help the women’s division as a whole too. Having Edge and Priest potentially involved in women’s feuds alongside Ripley will bring about more attention to rivalries and could help further legitimize a division that is once again struggling. With Edge as a mouthpiece and letting her learn from some of the very best in the business, it will give her the tools to become an even better performer, which is a fantastic prospect given how good she is already. Of course, this will all come down to booking, but there is serious potential there, especially when it comes to making Ripley a true star.
