The world of competitive tennis has many moments that bring joy to fans. Sometimes that joy unfortunately comes at the expense of the athletes who make the game great. The game of tennis has some of the most beautiful female athletes on earth competing every day in some beautiful outfits. But sometimes in the heat of competition, the photographers on the sidelines catch some truly embarrassing photos of these incredibly attractive athletes.

While laughing at them is all in good fun, it doesn't take away from the embarrassment these athletes must feel. Imagine going for a swing and getting caught making a hilarious face. Maybe a competitor just lost a close game and can't hide their raw emotions. These are just a few examples from the many we have provided below. It is truly incredible how many embarrassing moments these photographers are able to capture from the sidelines of a tennis court.

These women are all incredibly accomplished tennis stars, and also happen to be some very attractive athletes. If you came here to appreciate their beauty, you may be out of luck. But if you came to this list for a good chuckle, you will definitely not be disappointed. From funny faces to questionable behaviour all the way to bad choices of outfit, these are some of the least flattering photos of the most beautiful women in tennis.

15 15. Alize Cornet: Bring It Baby

Alizè Cornet hasn’t been the most prolific of players on the court with her highest ranking being 11th in 2009. However, she’s been known to always feature in all of the grand slam tournaments for the past 11 years.

Cornet unfortunately was charged in January 2018 by the International Tennis Federation for missing 3 substance tests during the past year. The case will be heard in March 2018 where under the WADA rules if she's found guilty, Cornet faces a suspension of up to 2 years and she forfeits all her prize money and points accumulated during this period. We wish her the best for her upcoming defence against WADA, but honestly what's new with this whole drug test issues, am I right Sharapova?

14 14. Simona Halep: Inertia

Simona Halep is one of the most gifted tennis players on earth. Of course when you have a look at her, you realize she gifted in more ways than one. As a former world number 1 and current world number 2, she has the skills to win at the highest level. However, on top of her incredible skill, she possesses some very prominent features that have caught the attention of many male fans in particular.

These features have lead to many funny photos that truly show that inertia is indeed a very big part of physics. She often wears extra support garments to make everything stays where it is supposed to. This could be a bit of a downer for male fans, but it definitely has helped her performance.

13 13. Agnieszka Radwanska: Game Face

If Martina Hingis and Pete Sampras were to have a child... Agnieszka Radwanska would be the ideal carbon copy of that child. Incidentally, those 2 players are the former world number 2's major inspirations. Born in Krakòw, Poland, Radwanska began playing tennis at the tender age of 4 and she never looked back. In 2005, she made a giant statement on the biggest stage by winning the Wimbledon girls’ singles championship. In 2006, she claimed the French Open’s junior title.

As a professional, Radwanksa’s major highlight would be being the first Polish player to make it to a grand slam final where she lost to Serena Williams at Wimbledon in 2012. A beauty outside of the courts, Radwanska is happily married to Dawid Celt who is always by Radwanska’s coaching box during all of her tournaments.

12 12. Angelique Kerber: Say Cheese!

Angelique Kerber certainly had a lot to smile about in the 2016 season where she dominated everyone in the Australian Open together with the U.S. Open by winning both tournaments. She could have made it a hat-trick if it wasn’t for Serena Williams during Wimbledon. However she can take pride in knowing that she ended 2016 as the new world number 1. That ranking made her the first German to make it to the World Number 1 since Stefanie Graf.

Kerber’s reign as world number 1 didn’t last for long as her 2017 season couldn’t match her previous achievements. Barely making it to the quarters in all her grand slam performances, Kerber took to Twitter to announce the separation of her partnership with her current coach Torben Beltz and introduced her new coach Wim Fissette.

11 11. Maria Sharapova: Too Focused

Never would I have thought that I would be writing a post on how Sharapova could be looking anything BUT attractive in front of a camera. Sharapova had to pull out of representing her country in the Fed Cup because of a forearm injury which she sustained during the 2016 Brisbane International. But it wouldn’t be the main reason for the exclusion of the other Grand Slam tournaments.

During the 2016 Australian Open, Sharapova was tested positive for a banned substance called meldonium which she claimed that she’s been consuming because of a magnesium deficiency and her family history of diabetes. To add insult to injury, Maria's love life hasn't been treating her right at all. In July 2015, her relationship with Bulgarian tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov, came to an end.

10 10. Madison Keys: Toothy Grin

Madison Keys will always be remembered for her heroics in the 2017 U.S. Open where she recruited former world number one Lindsay Davenport to coach her. This wouldn’t be her first time working with Davenport since they worked together during the 2014 season however Keys felt that Davenport wasn't prioritizing her coaching because she was being pulled in different directions due to her family commitments. Keys is probably thankful to have Davenport back in the coach’s box judging by her most recent results. Ever since they reunited, Keys’s results have been improving with her following up her placing in the finals of the U.S. Open with an appearance in the quarter finals at the recent 2018 Australian Open. Keys has been constantly compared to the Serena Williams and I for one would not be surprised to see her reaching that stage in the near future.

9 9. Ekaterina Makarova: Beast Mode

Now I know what you guys must be thinking... The article is supposed to be about the most attractive women! But trust me guys, Makarova has some absolutely stunning pictures of herself that would make your eyes roll back! The 29 year old Russian is an excellent doubles partner and her trophy cabinet can prove it. She’s won the French Open in 2013 and followed that with a win at the U.S. Open the very next year. Just last year, she won the Wimbledon women’s doubles championship with her only female partner, Elene Vesnina in a tennis doubles masterclass. The duo also won the WTA Finals in Singapore in 2016 and made Russia really proud during the year’s Rio Olympics by winning gold for Team Russia in the female doubles.

8 8. Naomi Osaka: Serves With Force

What more do you wish for as an upcoming tennis player than Serena Williams calling you "very dangerous"? Naomi Osaka is a 5 foot 11 half Japanese and half American Goddess that has really taken the world of women's tennis by storm since she won her first Australian Open at the tender age of 18. Its interesting because Osaka is part of the Japanese Tennis Association even though she couldn’t even really speak a word of Japanese up until a few years ago.

The incredibly hardworking Osaka has jumped up 123 spots in the rankings within just a year which probably lead Serena to comment that her young tenacious spirit will lead her to amazing places in the future. Naomi has a real big cross-over potential especially in Asia and we can only hope that her dream of being like her hero (Serena) is not only fulfilled, but surpassed!

7 7. Roberta Vinci: Bye-Bye!

Oh Roberta, Roberta….why are you going to leave us like this? By now its common knowledge that because of an onslaught of injuries, Roberta has announced her retirement after the Italian Open this upcoming May. Roberta is a former US Open finalist and her claim to fame was that she was ranked No 1 in the world in doubles with her partner Sara Errani who she also won a Grand Slam with.

But don’t worry, Roberta plans to stay within tennis post-retirement and has been busy with coaching and teaching tennis. It’s a truly amazing feat that Roberta has at one point in her career reached No. 7, but now she’s dropped to the low 100s. Despite that, Roberta has won 10 WTA singles titles from 2007 to 2016. We wish Roberta best of luck in her new tennis endeavours.

6 6. Daria Gavrilova: Get It!

Daria aka Dasha has an interesting career trajectory where she represented Russia up until a few years ago. She is now known as a prominent Australian player who has singles and doubles titles, won Youth Olympic Games and even the US Open at a young age. It's unbelievable that at 23 she has accomplished so much including already earning $3 million in prize money. It also doesn’t hurt that a top Australian newspaper gave her a huge profile spread calling her Australis’s new “fan favourite” and “glamour girl” who is dominating on and off the courts.

Even though she had some disappointing losses during the recent Australian Open, Daria has an incredibly bright future where she can easily be placing in the top 10 rankings. It's just a matter of keeping her cool, maintaining that same style, staying on top of her tournaments and learning from her mistakes.

5 5. Serena Williams: Only Works Out One Arm

Everybody loves Serena Williams. The former world number 1 has held that position for 253 weeks. Only Stefanie Graf, Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert have done it longer. And just like every other great, she’s done it with great class and with lots of drama from her threat to a lineswoman during her 2012 U.S. Open (I’m never calling fault ever again) to her need for an espresso during her 2015 Hopman Cup match against Flavia Pennetta.

The photo above gives the impression that Serena has one very large arm and one she neglects at the gym. While this is not true, it is a funny angle nonetheless. FYI, Serena gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on September 1, 2017. Her name - Alexi Olympia Ohanian Jr. No prizes for guessing who’s topping the WTA rankings in 2040.

4 4. Victoria Azarenka: Take That!

Victoria Azarenka is known to be the dancing queen of the tennis courts. The Belarusian always compliments her win on the court with a fancy shuffle as a salute to the fans for turning up.  It’s no surprise to see her gain lots of fans and admirers from all over the world and even getting a really big fan from one half of the musical duo LMFAO who dated Azarenka from 2012-2014.

She missed the entire 2016 season due to her pregnancy and gave birth to a baby boy December, 20 2016. This joyous moment did have a sour ending as she subsequently split from Leo’s father and a custody battle ensued. January 16, 2018 marks a rebirth for the Belarusian as she won her custody battle and is due to resume her career soon. Something tells me we haven’t seen the last of our dancing queen just yet.

3 3. CarolineWozniacki: What!?!

Wozniacki never shied away from the spotlight and made it clear that she isn’t a one trick pony. Aside from tennis, Wozniacki also enjoys various sporting activities such as soccer and running. In 2014, Wozniacki participated in the New York City Marathon and completed it in a time of 3:26:33. She is a fan of English football with her favourite club being Liverpool. Could her love of Liverpool been a a contributing factor to her 2014 break-up with professional golf player, Rory McIlroy who is a passionate Manchester United fan who was apparently wasn't ready for marriage. Typical United fan, always wanting change. Since then Wozniacki has taken to social media and announced last year that she had found love in former NBA Champion David Lee. The couple got engaged on November 2,2017. What can I say, gold just doesn’t cut it nowadays.

2 2. Jelena Jankovic: Flex

The 32-year-old started her career extremely well excelling in the 2001 Australian Junior Open by winning the entire tournament and being ranked junior number 1 in the world at the age of 16. When she turned professional, Jankovic was ranked world number 1 without even winning a grand slam title. She was only able to achieve that in 2007 where she was matched with British doubles partner Jaime Murray, brother of Andy Murray, in the mixed doubles tournament. The unseeded pair took out fifth seeds Jonas Björkman and Alicia Molik in 3 sets, 6-4,3-6,6-1.

Jankovic is also an extremely influential motivator. To bring back her achievement with Jaime Murray in Wimbledon, Jankovic was quoted saying “I was motivating him every time. When it was break point I was telling him 'hit a good return because you know you are gonna get many more kisses".

1 1. Eugenie Bouchard: Not The Best Angle

The 23-year-old Canadian took the world by storm in 2014 where she was ranked at her highest 5th on the WTP. Bouchard made a name for herself when she stepped up against all odds to feature in the 2014 Australian Open semi final by defeating the number 1 seeded Ana Ivanovic. She didn’t win the semi-final however, losing out to eventual winner Li Na but that only motivated her to improve more. She brought that momentum into the French Open where made in to the semis losing out to Maria Sharapova who won the tournament that year. During the grass court season she became the first Canadian to reach a grand slam final beating Simona Halep. She hasn’t featured much on the bigger stage of the major tournaments ever since then, but we can all expect more from her as she progresses further into her career.
